According to IG the drivers GF was filming and this was an unprovoked verbal attack.

As an exotic car owner I can tell you that there's a lot of hate in Vancouver towards supercars and Asians. I've had people actually tail me, pull up beside me and say "Oh, I thought you were Asian" so I can't imagine been a skinny Asian kid driving an exotic in this city and getting a random tongue lashing.

Is the hate justified? I don't think so because frankly I don't give a shit what you do for a living, what kind of house you live in or what kind of car you drive. Going after someone for a nice car is like walking down a random Vancouver street and getting triggered looking at multi-million dollar homes, knocking on the door and going on a verbal tirade on the owner about illegal money because they're Asian. Makes no sense to me.

Another fun fact is is not all local exotic car owners are young Asian kids cleaning money. In fact, I would say half the local Lamborghini owners are White, same with Mclaren and Ferrari. Most of them are doctors, lawyers and business owners who usually come out for drives or events. There's also a lot of older Asian owners who are professionals. The media wants to paint all supercar owners as either young rich Asian kids or money launders but they make a small % of supercar owners locally.

Is it racist to assume this when I'm behind someone in traffic or just an educated guess?

Don't know if I'm racist, prejudice or just prudent but when I'm looking for a used car ... I am suspicious and weary of ones in Surrey ... listings in West Van or Kerrisdale, or Kits get moved to top of the list.

I never go to these supercar/diamond rally events so I'll take your word that 50% are white. I think the issue here though is they aren't driving their cars around all day. If they are, they're probably being a little more"respectful" on the road and don't make us look twice.

I'm downtown almost everyday beside the Trump tower. I have seen 1 exotic that was driven by a Caucasian in 6 years. It was a blue mp4-12C a few years back and guy was smoking a fat cigar. Living the life.

I've got to say from the perspective of someone in downtown/metrotown daily I can't say the rich Asian kid % to be small. Obviously I can't speak on the money launder % and I'm sure none of us can because we just simply do not know.
