I've had my dashcam (front & rear) stolen out of my truck parked in friend's underground parkade in Richmond (Moffatt Road) over a weekend. Was in Whistler, came back to broken glass and EVERYTHING from all compartments scattered throughout the cab of the truck.

Headliner partially ripped off to take the rear dashcam as well. Dude must have spent a lot of time in there.

My dumbass had left some US Cash in there too at the time.

Fucking Canada Line

Fast forward a couple years, parked my CTS at a buddy's house near Sprott/Douglas, again left for a weekend while we went up to Kelowna and came back to glove compartment contents scattered all over the drivers seat, no signs of forced entry. Passenger door slightly ajar. I'm still baffled as to how he/she got in without setting off the factory alarm???????

Silver lining is nothing was taken, I've learnt my lesson to never leave anything in car anymore.

Anyone been able to get reimbursed for the dashcam by icbc?

Friend's window got smashed and they took the front cam. It was mounted with double sided tape, not suction cup.

Nope, mentioned the tape the last time it happened and ICBC still rejected it; the rep said it may be covered if it is securely mounted to the point that tools are required to take it off so it sounds like it'll need to be bolted down.

pro tip, lock your car door and don't leave money, a wallet, passport, SIN card, bag, electronics or a garage door opener in the car.

You'd think its common sense but I have yet to see a police report with none of those taken.

^ I wouldn't believe it either but after hearing some of the stuff family and friends have complained about having stolen from their vehicles I'm not surprised.
