For me, my reaction to that, isn't to hit back in anger, I actually pity them, and that would probably make the person feel worse, than if you hit back in anger
For a lot of these people giving her hell right now, they're the same, they're feeling sad n down about life, and they want to hit out at someone to make themselves feel better, to feel like they did something good, so they attack this crazy old lady, but they feel completely justified

I'm curious if the chinese lady already had the camera rolling when white lady came back to her car, or if it was some time after the confrontation started.
If it's the former then being greeted with a camera on you when you're not expecting it is definately going to antagonize the situation and lead to further bad decisions. I mean this lady knew it was her fault she hit the other car, she's probably embarassed and now is confronted with a camera in her face. She's not exactly thinking straight at this point so she goes off the deep end.
Has no one here ever said hurtful things in the heat of the moment that you don't actually mean?
Do you think that one shitty thing should 100% define your character?

I think most reasonable people assume that yeah, she's probably a shitty racist deep inside, and it came out during a moment of extreme frustration. But I think everyone deserves the chance to redeem themselves, and almost everyone can (some things are beyond redemption IMO, but to each their own)

People are racist, and people do racist shit, but just because someone of a different ethnicity treats you like an asshole, it can be for any multitude of reasons other than racism.

Either way you want to interpret it, that wouldn't have been the case. We would have been treating them like the asshole, that they were. Regardless, we didn't give them a table because the 50 people that got there before them, regardless of ethnicity, get seated first.
Treating someone like an asshole doesn't make you an asshole, unless they aren't an asshole. It's asshole math.

I’m about as anti racial as it comes, I make plenty of jokes but in reality I like to think I give everyone the equal opportunity until they show me a reason not too.
I was riding my road bike on beach ave doing 30+ km/h. The speed limit is 30km/h. This man, who looked to be of Spanish decent yells at me and points to the causeway and yells “bike paths over there (pointing south).
I came back with a couple words but then stopped myself halfway... I was about to say “you know what else is over their? Mexico!” Do I have anything against Mexicans? absolutely not. In fact it’s my favourite place to travel too, for the people!!! It was a cheap shot for no reason. An idiotic thing to think in an attempt to retaliate from someone’s stupid comment in the first place.
Where am I going with this? Sometimes people say (or my case, think) things for a cheap shot or to get a rise out of someone. I’m not defending this women, but don’t just jump on the bandwagon.
Or I’m just an awful person. Who knows.

Exactly. Its an idiotic thing to say, but was used as a quick cheap insult for zero reason other then the fact it was easy.
I would have been so angry at myself if I had actually said something. Instilling hate for no reason other then retaliation/defence for a stupid comment. Twitchy you can sit up on your pedestal all you want, but the world is not black and white. If you open your eyes, you might start to enjoy the whole experience. Failing me for thinking something is an interesting point.
If that poor sap had mind reading capabilities, got so upset and crashed his car, I’d be right behind him, my spandex clad ass burning in the fiery crash trying to save him. I’m just trying to say, sometimes people say shot they don’t mean. The only thing I would have done to that guy is not hold the door open for him because I was having a bad day and he pissed me off.
