I like Edmonds battery...

I guess Costco has a good warranty but their batteries are shit quality.

I also like Interstate too, I find they’re really good.

Sorry to thread hi-jack. I am also looking for a battery for my car ('92 Toyota Mr2). Group35 battery. Prices I found were:
- Edmonds Batteries, if I am thinking the same place quoted me $125 + taxes.
- Toyota Parts (OEM), $160 + taxes.

i bought the Costco AGM battery for my TL-S. Made by JCI

It wasn't that expensive...I think around 180sh after tax and core exchange?

https://www.costco.ca/Energizer-24F-...100404760.html

It's basically this battery with a red Kirkland sticker instead of "Energizer", available in store

I don't know how similar Acura is with warranty to Honda when it comes to batteries but when I worked at Honda (about 3+ years ago), it's 5 years pro rated. Full coverage first 24 months/40k km.

Weird....now the 2017 RDX needs a new battery...a mere 3.5yrs later...would that be average lifespan for a battery that came with the car brand new? Considering I do have a powermagic hooked up for the dashcam.

Constant discharge on a lead acid like that with a Powermagic will kill your batt way faster than if you didnt.

Wiring a dashcam to your battery in parking mode is very bad for your battery.

Lead acids are not meant to be used like that. When a batt hits 12v or high 11's. You've drained it down to 40-50% already.

i bought a honda battery as well.. for my mdx and civic..

it lasted really long on my EP3... 2002 - 2018.. but then again, it has only 100k

but lasted about 3 years on my MDX..

i went for a larger CCA for my EP3 than i had before as well.

Not sure if this one is relevant - I upgraded the battery on a friend's '18 Accord Sport 4Cyl 6MT.

Apparently, that gen is pretty famous for starter failure in colder climates due to the undersized battery (Group 51).
Upgraded to the V6 Battery (Group 24F)

The tiedown was fine - adjustable length with the nut and bolt style rods.
Needed a new tray - bought this from Honda for like 30 bux.

I feel like batteries in vehicles from the factory aren't as high quality as what the dealer sells over the counter a lot of the time.

I see vehicles come in all the time (Ford), one or two years old, and the batteries are leaking, causing the terminals to corrode. Sometimes completely away!

Yet i almost never see our over the counter ones have that issue.

Not sure about the 9G Accord, but the 9G Civic has a notoriously terrible battery and even more terrible keyless entry remote battery. SMH.

AFAIK, the factory installed batteries on USA made Toyotas and Nissans notoriously leak from the vent caps and corrode the terminals to shit... I think the batteries are made by Johnson Controls, whoever they are. Warranty tons of them at Nissan.
The ones you get at the parts counter are made by East Penn, like a major step-up.

The Japan-made models with the white Panasonic batteries last probably about a decade... no leaks too

Johnson Controls are the ones who make Optima batteries. Optima quality has gone down over the years.
