Anyone have a salesman at chevy they like/trust? Looking to buy c8 corvette

Any dealer in burnaby or west of there, richmond one fine as well.

I know it's just a waitlist but want to put name/deposit down, ideally with someone recommended instead of a random.

Gfs salesman retired.

mgr reviews is in marketing iirc, but if you want a salesman that's really good; Josh from Eagle Ridge GM was fantastic to deal with when my sister bought a used sentra from them.

Yep.

Talked to the two Chevy dealers that sold me the C7 and Camaro. Both told me the same thing, the 2020 Canadian allocations are all sold.

Question for UnknownJinx - Have your C7 and Camaro both been reliable? Any known issues/annoyances? I'm not in the market for one immediately, but wouldn't mind taking a more serious approach in a few more years.

Are you shopping for an auto or manual? GM’s 8-speed auto doesn't have a good reputation. In the Camaro I have seen many complain about vibrations and shifting issues, in the Corvette it's well known that they will overheat on track and need to cool down. The 19+ Camaro SS gets the 10-speed auto(co-developed with Ford) IIRC and so far it seems like they are fine.

I had/have both cars in manual trans. The Camaro SS 6-speed will definitely feel better to use than the C7 7-speed. TREMEC transmissions are pretty solid so they should be good.

If you come across a 14 C7 Stingray, some people also recommend upgrading cooling fan to the 15+ Z06 ones.

Otherwise they should both be comparable in reliability seeing they share the same engine with some differences. I haven't owned either long enough to speak for long term reliability but that's what I have gathered online so far.

To be honest, I would only want a Corvette or Camaro in manual. I can't remember where, but I read somewhere that the Corvette was only offered in paddle shifter, but this was a long time ago, and likely rumours, and pre-release of the Z06 Corvette.

I haven't been actively looking, only passively. Another American muscle car I was interested in was the Dodge Challenger, but again, looking only passively. The Corvette would be my first choice.

I've never owned a domestic before, but the Cadillac CTS-V or ATS-V were my initial choices for a daily driver, but manual transmission models were hard to come by and they were often in various shapes and forms of something that was about to fall apart just by touching it, or a time capsule. Seeing the Corvettes race at Laguna Seca, the IMSA series, WEC, and what have you, were really eye catching, so that's what drew me to them.

Sorry for hijacking this thread.

Manual Corvettes and V8 Camaros do have "paddle shifters." They are switches to the Active Rev Match feature, which will make the car blip the throttle for you when you downshift. Maybe that's what you are thinking of?

IMO Camaro is more of a sports car under a muscle/pony car's skin. It handles pretty well. An SS 1LE can hang with a C7 Z51 on a track at the right hands.

If you like a C7, I would still recommend test driving a 6th Gen Camaro SS(1LE package is recommended if you can find one). You might be surprised and find yourself liking the Camaro SS (1LE). Personally I am leaning more towards the SS 1LE.

But yeah, thread jack, really need to start a new thread for this.
