I know the Si will take a year off, but Si sedan with more power and ventilated leather seats please. Obviously with a 6-speed manual, of course. And more power (needs to be said twice).

VW can do it with the GLI, so can Honda.

is350 11-12-2020 09:39 PM

tailights is so much jetta/audi A4, still looks good though.

sdubfid 11-12-2020 11:53 PM

Would be nice to see a new hatchback that actually resembles a hatchback (like from 1970s-2000) and not the current dogs breakfast.

JDMDreams 11-13-2020 06:55 AM

Yea I dunno, I gave up on Honda designs after the 2000s. Everything is too over styled and not in a good way. Like they were constantly adding things hoping something would work. Like the Accord, I really hoped it had a hatch with that design but it doesn't. Even the Koreans are way past Honda in terms of design

Here you go!

A little conservative but I'll take it over the current model.

Spectre_Cdn 11-17-2020 06:43 PM

The front is so boring it looks like a previous gen Forté or a generic American compact sedan. It looks production-ready from a styling standpoint. Maybe they’re trying to “correct” from the supposedly overstyled tenth generation? At least the interior design is clean like the Honda E and Accord.

JDMDreams 11-17-2020 06:51 PM

Meh, hate to say it but Corolla looks better

twitchyzero 11-17-2020 06:54 PM

not a fan of the bulgy/lumpy hood look from the accord
looks as big as a TL now haha

Not the first time they copied Audi

Looks generic and boring...

twitchyzero 11-17-2020 08:38 PM

unfortunately the 10th gen was over-styled and will age like shit

it’s a Civic not an Italian tourer..if it were me I’d opt for boring

I would pick the newest Hyundai Elantra sedan that was just released over the Toyota Corolla

Exterior design, not overly aggressive compared to the 10th gen civic

Interior design, better execution compared to the current Corolla

New civic looks pretty dope imo

jaretron 11-18-2020 04:52 PM

There's a few things that seem a bit awkward to me but overall this is a significant improvement over the previous gen. I'm really curious to see how the Type R will look.

Edit: I tweaked the rear window line and it really brought out some similarities to Audi.

I 10000% agree. The new Elantra looks better than all the competitors. The new Civic is very underwhelming inside and out. Im sure its going to be equipped with a god awful CVT transmission.

The N-line Elantra on the other hand is beautiful.

I fucking haaate the current Civic LED headlights - the individual reflectors are bright as fuck and throw light literally everywhere. It's like they half-assed Acura's jewel eye whatever by not using projectors but reflectors.

And it looks like it's back with the same system, just split in half.

Spoiler!

:sweetjesus:

Now if they can translate this design language into a form of a hatchback, Hyundai's got a hot hatch on their hands.

The current hatch they have now looks okay but could be more aggressive looking.

I like the rear and interior of the new Elantra, but that front end and sides are way too busy for me. Too many folds - won't age well.

The new Civic is OK. Reminds me of when they released the 2012 and it was so boring - received tons of backlash and they had to do a quick refresh. The styling is fine, nothing exciting though. It looks 10 years old. I think Honda is losing its way in exterior design compared to the competition. The Passport is the definition of blah.

Akinari 11-19-2020 08:02 PM

Yeah the 11th gen is a no for me. Oh Honda, why dost thou continue to upset us with thy increasingly boring and polarizing cars. the FD Civics were the last good looking ones.

Am I the only one here who thinks the styling of the new Elantra is way too much? It looks like Hyundai went through the hassle of crashing into every single one of them from various angles before sending them out from the factory.

is350 11-19-2020 11:14 PM

.

underscore 11-20-2020 07:37 AM

Aside from the front having no bottom "jaw", I think it looks pretty good. It isn't exciting, but it's not ugly and it's not an SUV, so that's a win these days. That Elantra looks hideous by comparison. Like somebody accidentally crumpled the drawings but they just went with it, and they couldn't think of a front end so they stuck a cheese grater on it.

JDMDreams 11-20-2020 12:00 PM

I wanted to like the Mazda 3 hatch, but I sat in the back seat and was like wtf is this shit. It's so cramped. And I've previously had a protege 5 and the first Mazda 3.
