| Anybody on Clubhouse?
I've been on Clubhouse for a little over a week. In a nutshell it's an app where up to 8000 people can meet in a audio room, you set the moderators and who can talk on stage. Several different categories to search topics. Larger than a room is a club, I've never been in a live club car related room. These other topics have all kinds of clubs that are always live.
I've mostly followed, car, stock and social media stuff. My first couple days I was shocked being in a room with these million follower YouTubers. On the other side there's lots of jobless people with iPhones that stay on seemingly 24/7. Some great stuff and some horrible, just like life.
I've only found a few car rooms, pretty small with the same faces all the time. The other night just a dozen guys in the room, RJ Devera and Downstar Frank were 2. Could be a great networking tool.
I think Covid has really helped to get people on Clubhouse, I can also see it taking people away from forums like RS.

I may be in the minority but social media and platforms such as Clubhouse has taken away a lot of forums dedicated to special interests. A good example are Honda forums, which are slowly becoming a dying breed where years and knowledge and expertise have disappeared due to the growth and popularity of social media platforms.
While social media platforms serve their purposes, they do not do as great of a job to draw on special interests like Revscene for example. At one point in time, I really did think that Revscene was going be shut down for good due to lack of active posters. COVID did bring some old timers back, but I feel that it will never reach its glory days when street racing was rampant and having a turbocharged B16A was the bees knees.

As nice as the convenience social media platforms are, nothing still beats a forum that's segregated with information, where you can search topics or go to specific sections to read up stuff on. Every week get people asking the same/or random questions in say a car club on facebook group, just a huge blob of posts dumped in that constantly gets pushed down.

I think Covid has really helped to get people on Clubhouse, I can also see it taking people away from forums like RS. | I don’t even like having to answer a phone call compared to just answering a text. Fuck an audio chat room with up to 8000 people.
Also fuck social media that’s taken over forums

On clubhouse, in the small rooms mods sometimes request you to come on stage and talk. You can decline or exit the room. There’s typically only a few people with open mic’s.
This has to be the most social, social media. Or if you’re just listening it’s basically a podcast.

My friends have made some new friends during Covid from other cities through clubhouse. I think it has a lot of potential for extroverts to find people to chat with every day or as often as they like.

To add to dukes point, I recently got into some..ahem..indoor gardening
I searched and searched for resources mainly in forums until I came across a few with 300-500 page threads etc. Which Were basically the equivalent to an encyclopedia on the subject matter from beggining to end with the thread starters and contributions still going strong to this day.
It’s virtually impossible to gather that kind of information from these more “modern” forms of social media. I find almost everything like Twitter, Reddit, etc is just these little bits of regurgitated information with virtually no expansion or discussion on a topic besides maybe some arguing etc.
The thread in currently a part of, the OP is basically my mentor in my endeavours and the people are some of the most kind, generous people with their time and information when it comes to educating others.
That’s how I felt a lot of forums like Honda tech, etc. Used to be, now it’s a pain to dig anything close to that up. Like when I was looking for G37 forums, for the amount of vehicles out there between G35/350z/G37/370 the discussion forums for these vehicles are pathetic
