Definitely in some cases it feels fucking ridiculous. That said I've been having the opposite experience recently. Just started golfing at Fraserview and ate there for the first time the other day. Sort of cafeteria style but not really. You walk up to the counter and order, they give you a number and you go sit down somewhere and they'll come with the food later. They also pick up after you when you leave so really it's a full on restaurant it's just that they don't come to your table to take your order but close enough. I was fully expecting the tip option when I was paying but there wasn't. Now maybe because it's run by the City they don't do it I have no idea. They do have a tip jar though and on my way out I left a $5 and they were super thankful.

I went the weekend it opened. Shit was disorganized as hell. They ran out of ride tickets at lunch time, or they ran out of quotas for the day, I'm not terribly sure. The crowds were manageable, left at 5 because kid was getting tired.

MG1 08-31-2022 08:31 PM

This is why I never go on the first day or the first few days, unless it's free admission day (remember those?).

Booths aren't set up properly, people scrambling left, right, and centre.

lilaznviper 08-31-2022 09:17 PM

ride passes ran out by opening on sunday.

my parents were asking when the free day was this year. but didn't see anything on it this year

Vansterdam 09-01-2022 04:16 AM

Ride passes pretty much sold out in advanced everyday.

Ride tickets I think sell out by lunch time.

By 1230 even the kids ride tickets were all sold out and only a few single kids ride tickets were left.

Feel bad for the kids who show up later .

MG1 09-02-2022 05:20 PM

Cash is not king at the PNE. Except at the Pea Wheel and other casino games.

Tap or Apple Pay.

Add in a couple reused plastic shopping bags of empty cans/bottles to reveal the Ultra Super Bak's final form.

It’s true. Just gotta eat that .25 cent cup fee every beer though

N.V.M. 09-04-2022 07:35 AM

full rack of beef ribs, only $56.

mikemhg 09-04-2022 10:59 AM

We went yesterday, had a pretty good time.

There's WAY more food trucks and options this year then prior years. I love how you can walk around with your alcohol now, no more being tied into the little beer garden.

Had my Henry's Chicken (the best), smashed burger from SIRIUS. We grabbed a Colossal onion as well but couldn't finish the damn thing, too salty and oily, felt like shit after.

Those corn fritter donuts sucked by the way, big disappointment there. Stick with the OG ones.

N.V.M. 09-04-2022 11:07 AM

right. had one of those $16 onions too. overrated holy hell.

Hondaracer 09-04-2022 11:20 AM

Yea had the onion last year, never again

mikemhg 09-04-2022 11:23 AM

Were either of you able to finish it?

I imagine you could feed a family with one, my mind was wondering if a single person ever dummies it themselves.

The sodium content had me running to buy a $5 water within minutes :lol
