I've been waiting on this debut much like the Tundra. We all knew it was coming and would be based off the new LC300 and share the engine with it and the Tundra.
Overall it looks like a great improvement over the current generation. As much as I love my 2019 it is a bit dated. Happy to ride it out for a few years while watching how this new one performs.
At least they tried to blend the front grille on to the car instead of making it stand out like a Bane mask. IMO, it's an improvement compared to most Lexus in recent years.
It kind of has current gen 4Runner/Rav4 vibes with those wheel wells. Yea, the current grills are not my favorite Lexus choice so this is definitely an improvement, even though it's still gargantuan. I miss the simplicity of the 2007-2015 front end but it does start to look dated now in comparison.
I see what you mean when you use "outdated" rather than "classic" or whatever. Sometimes an old car can look old, but not be "outdated". In this case, the huge ugly chrome part surrounding the huge ugly grill and front vents definitely looks outdated and downright silly. And the 'check mark' under the headlights look atrocious. But the new look with the cartoonish wheel wells that makes it looks like a giant Hot Wheels will also look outdated in a few years.
But for a lot of people, they will simply drive it for 4 years and when it looks outdated, move onto the next trendy car, and that's fine.
Well I mean... you gotta keep it longer... if you pay an eye watering $135,000 Canadian out the door for it with no options and it's only worth $80,000 4 years later... it's hard to justify that you just lost $55,000 in 4 years of ownership... gotta keep it for 10+ to spread the depreciation out.
And that's with a LEXUS imagine a brand that doesn't hold value as well lol...
