Was he truely anti-vax and never received the vaccine? Or was he the broadly (and wrongly) defined anti-vax term of someone who was vaxxed, but against mandates and lockdowns?
I have yet to see anyone conclusively say either way. People who are using this, before any of the facts are out, as gotcha against anti-vaxxers, are scum.
The man spent 54 years entertaining the world and being a great storyteller and taking care of his touring crew (based on friends of friends sharing their anecdotes). He basically lived as the character he created for himself. High energy, loads of charisma and needed oxygen at the end of the shows.
Gotta love how people judge him based on the last few years of his life as if that negates the preceding 51.
I'm not judging him at all, just too bad he left earlier than he had to for a somewhat silly reason.
Meh
That would imply a double or triple prick would have helped him. He was still nearing 75 with 50+ years living the rock star life, often performing on fumes and needing oxygen. He could have had underlying medical issues he didn't want to share with the public because 'the show must go on'.
Double vax didn't help Colin Powell because it's a little less black & white as you add in additional factors than just Covid.
But I guess as long as we have people posting hysterical headlines via hag rags like The Daily Beast, all is well right? I'd rather call them 'social viruses'.
Well my dad is over 70, has had a quadruple bypass and stents, has high blood pressure and diabetes and definitely couldn’t perform without oxygen if he knew how to sing…
Being vaccinated definitely saved his life.
Not gonna say his life meant nothing or any of his achievements should be lessened because he wasn’t vaccinated, but it’s pretty stupid to say it wouldn’t have helped him out or bettered his chances.
I hated meatloaf as a kid, his MVs were always on tv, and I hated 'anything for love'
But he was great in fight club
rip
Haha, me too. I think I hated anything for love as much as I love BOB. Fight Club is top 3 all time for me.
Cancel that anti-vax non-sense. The man made a decision and stuck by it and it perhaps cost him his life. No one will ever be able to tell for sure that Covid was exactly what took him so media needs to stop painting that picture. Stand up for what you believe in and die or don't honor yourself and die the next day from a heart attack because of a long rockstar life. No one will be able to prove either way so stick with his accolades in a time of remembrance.
I'm not judging him at all, just too bad he left earlier than he had to for a somewhat silly reason.

It is pretty stupid isn't it? That's why I responded to your first part.
But I'm aware of word twisting on RS. It's a specialty but the 'mot juste' always remains elusive.
if you've read about his recent back surgeries, it's probably all for the best. as mentioned, having the life of a rock star for 1/2 century, he's had to have seen and lived a lot.
