wtf is this 2002? Showing off the brand new sony ericsson? Did you take off your winters yet?
Your answers are most likely going to be Apple or Samsung. And on the rare occasion, a Nexus - er Pixel.
I have a S20 FE. I'm happy with it. It works.

Sony Xperia 10iii. I won't touch any other brand. They offer me exactly what I want in a phone, for exactly the right price.

On an S22 because Samsung had a pretty good trade-in for my S10e. Would have just kept it if it wasn't for that.
Phones haven't been exciting in a long time, in fact they've just been taking away features year after year.

Can’t wait to see what phone you winter swap to next fall | Same. Probably going to get a new battery from Apple for $90 and use it till the OS updates stop in two years.
Every year I watch the announcement in September and it’s just a new chip, camera or screen. Nothing enticing enough to drop a grand+ on a new one. Closest time was when the Mini was introduced, but then it’s just a smaller version of meh.
Rather spend the money on wheels and tires |

I miss feature phones. All that's left are iPhones and Samsungs in the North American market.
@SkinnyPupp - What made you choose the Xperia? I did quite like them for the features but they've pulled out of North America. I mean, you can still get them but carriers here will restrict functions like VoLTE etc. making them pretty basic.

Just an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Pixel 4A 5G nowadays, though those Sony Ericsson and Nokia phones were fun back in the day. One of my friends rocked a parts-bin N95 pieced together from the local Nokia office, while I had a prototype Sony Ericsson SO-05D at one point.
And while I'm on the nostalgia train, anyone here have a Sony Ericsson W900i kicking around?

@SkinnyPupp - What made you choose the Xperia? I did quite like them for the features but they've pulled out of North America. I mean, you can still get them but carriers here will restrict functions like VoLTE etc. making them pretty basic. | Quite a few reasons it's the right fit for me actually... First of all, I won't use Chinese brand phones. Their RAM and battery management is awful, and they cheat to win performance and battery benchmarks, but real world usage is garbage.
So that limits what I can find in my budget. Mostly Korean phones, and Sony.
As far as this model goes, I really like the extra long 21:9 format - it's a 6" phone, but fits comfortably in hand. The size is useful for vertical scrolling, whereas extra width in phones held vertically is useless and cumbersome.
Build quality is really good. Full Gorilla Glass body (with plastic in the middle frame but it's fine), IP68 waterproof, headphone port, etc.
Battery life is insane on these things. I recharge every 3 or 4 days, and only to 90%
Performance is right where it needs to be.. I don't game on it, but switching between apps is really fast, and using the camera is fast. I had the Xperia 10ii before this, and my only issue with it was the CPU was quite slow. The 10iii takes care of that.
You get a very basic Android OS with no garbage apps added, and the extra Sony software that is in there is actually pretty useful. That includes a battery management (I charge to 90% flat, but you can make it so it tops up at a certain time each day). There's less and less of this stuff with each new Xperia, unfortunately.
Camera is fine. I rarely use the camera
I don't think it's necessarly the best phone in the price range, but it's the perfect one for me. I started buying Sony phones with the Xperia X, and have stuck with them with every upgrade since. Honestly in some ways they aren't as well designed as they used to be, but still the best for me. Every time I look at Samsung, I see clunky ugly phones and bloated, annoying software.
