Where do you draw the lines? Those who find it acceptable, you must have a line as well, it may not be drag queens, but surely its somewhere

So then why is it a problem if some have drawn their line at not having adult entertainers perform shows for kids? (regardless of what form that show takes)

Is it only a problem because those against it don't share the same line in the sand as you do? Who are you to say they can't draw the line in the sand where they want to?

Those against the idea don't have an issue with those of you who haven't set the same line as they did, they're saying "you draw ur line where u want /shrug" their issue is the performance itself not attendees, supporters, or apathetic sideliners
(in general, not talking about how the convo has broken down into personal attacks)

You can support the show, or not support the show, but to attack the opposing side for not sharing your view is just stupid (this goes both ways)

if this is what you're afraid of being in a library then I look forward to your protests and outrage about witches, clowns, cowardly lions (Real lions are NOT cowardly kids, they eat people!), and elves doing story time.

Edit: As has become the norm, anytime one reads "news" that's written by far right it's almost always manufactured outrage like how this article associates a harmless drag queen story time here with some inappropriate for children event in Florida. One google search of the performer would have cleared it up.

No this is not. If you find it unreasonable for your kids, as mentioned previously you can simply decide to not go.

If you want to take it a step up, contact a library representative or your city councillor and share your thoughts as to why you don't agree with the decision and have a reasonable discussion.

This is about a so-called "news" sources with clear agendas misconstruing the situation to trigger outrage in certain groups of weak minded people to start complaining about it online, generation divisive pointless arguments on both sides.

If op simply read that, decided to not take his kids there, and maybe wrote a message voicing his concerns and criticized the decision of the library and the city, this entire shitshow of a thread wouldn't have needed to happen.

I don't think it's accurate to group all drag queens into "adult entertainers" just as not all pole dancers are strippers/adult entertainers. The drag queen in question is little different than a clown or dancer - some of them are inappropriate, some are wholesome, some are "different". Show a kid Rupaul and they wouldn't know he was a man or, in many cases, that he's an "adult" performer. He's just a performer.

Just as I wouldn't expose my kid (or other kids) to an erotic dancer I wouldn't expose them to a sexual drag queen or an Xmas concert full of "sexy" elves but elves, dancers, and drag queens, by themselves, are not harmful. Let's not stereotype drag queens just because conservatives hate gays and tagged them all as sexual deviants. Drag queens exaggerate gender norms first and foremost, then some go sexual.

If it was just one issue I would agree but it's not. This is just the newest issue in a long line of issues they have cried about. We do have members on RS that have supported the proud boys and at least one who knew people who where members.

While I do not agree with this for my family, I don't have a problem with others putting this on. Their life their choice, we're in a free country.
