Was this one inspired by Hobz? Kinda looks like him too.

Grow up fuckin Peter Pan and get a good nights rest.
Just turned 40, and being old AF, my doc was telling me to start tracking my blood pressure at home and report back on an average.
I didn't want to deal with entering it into a notes app, or a spreadsheet to manually calculate the average, nor did I wanna download some unknown app full of ads and unknown data privacy, so I decided to vibe-code an app with AI.
Turned out pretty good, frickin crazy how good the AI is. The hardest thing was figuring out how to compile it and convert it into an android app!

Side note, Adobe uses a weird image recognition program with their PDFs. Or I guess image to text, but it would treat each letter as an image. This is pretty annoying if you were editing the PDF text. Even funnier, after a few edits, the text/image would start disappearing or irreversible font error lol

Does that even require AI? I thought Adobe had the ability to do that to .pdfs for a while now.
I used to use the Google Translate app. I'd take a picture on my phone, "send to home" to receive the text form, cut and paste to my whatsapp, then get it from there on my PC to use.
This is much more convenient than that, and doesn't require me to buy and install Adobe Whatever
Does it REQUIRE AI? Not really. But it's convenient, and it's not stealing from artists or writers anyway.
I've used google ai to research tools, communicate with sellers in other countries, and other uses that aren't the garbage that has been shared in this thread (from me as a joke, and other goofballs earnestly). I think this is the healthiest way to look at it. But the content stealing, not to mention identity theft and other gross stuff people are using it for, needs to be dealt with. But it's just a technology, we've gone through versions of this many times. And it will continue to ramp up from here.
not that it would happen but i'd be happy if ai just went away.
its not a tool for us, it's for corporations to save money and make shit worse for the rest of us. also it makes propaganda super powerful which is what im most afraid of.
the small benefits that it grants to the users don't outweigh these things imo. we lived without it, life didn't suck.

In iOS - for at least a few years now - you've been able to just select text right out of an image.
Often I take out my phone and snap a picture of a serial number from the back of whatever appliance.
And then right there in that photo, I just select the text and paste it into wherever else.
And in MacOS, you can just dbl click on any image at all (including screenshots) to open Preview, and instantly select whatever text out of it.
Super handy.
---
On a related note: it's also super handy that in MacOS, you can CTRL-C any text or images, then go to your phone and just paste. The text or image just shows right up on your phone. It works in reverse too.
None of this is AI, just well-integrated basic features.

It's just a new interface, nothing more. People said the same thing about computers, and the internet and smartphones. It's really archaic now too; the main thing it does now is "LMGTFY". But connected to other tools, like the tiny helpful example I showed, it can be a useful way of simplifying how we interface with tools.
Again it's the freaks like jasons2000 that make it look bad. And there's a lot of those, I get it. But I think it's going to be "a thing" moving forward. And eventually "the thing".

My point was that it isn't a new function, or exclusive to AI, so if anyone is wanting that functionality it's available elsewhere. I still haven't had any use for AI so I'll keep disabling it everywhere I run into it.

And my point is, AI is just an interface, not a new function, and nothing it does is really exclusive to it. So it seems we are in agreement!
It's like using a mouse in 1987, instead of keyboard shortcuts and the up/down arrows. Scrolling through menus is not exclusive to the mouse, and if anyone wants that functionality they can still use their keyboard. But the new interface is just more suitable and gives more access to functionality.
Or doing translation the way I used to do, or using Adobe Whatever as you said you do.
The issue is that this new interface opens up all these non exclusive tools (which you rightfully say were always available) to basically everyone with a phone, including the dumbest people on the planet. And as we've seen in this very forum with some of the retarded stuff that gets posted like generating an image of a wrench with a display on it and calling it a new invention, the results are not always useful to society. BUT as a tool, I think it will work itself out. If WW3 doesn't end it first, that is.
