Stolen: APR GT250 67" Wing

Stolen off the back of my car between 7:10pm and 11:20pm last night (Aug 1st) in New West.

Posting here in case someone spots someone trying to sell an APR wing with no mounting plates and can help me get some info to give to police or ICBC. Not really sure what else is proper procedure. Already called non emergency to report the theft and made a claim with ICBC and gave the police case number.

Wing is pretty much universal for all cars as long as you have the mounting plates and want to put a 67" wide wing on the car.

This is what the wing looks like sans mounting plate

This is what my car now looks like, also where it got stolen from.

Look on the bright side, you lost a VI magnet ... consider it a not so bad day. Take the ICBC money and run.

Wow. Low lives..., gonna make a nice wall ornament in someones trailer

Might be worth slapping on an airtag for those that have expensive wangs

Surprisingly it wasn't a VI magnet, only ever got pulled over once in 2021 for being too loud (explained it was a factory installed TRD exhaust and they let me go). Had the wang since 2018.

Yeah it was from the parkade at 800 Carnarvon, was catching a movie. Probably spotted me near the PNE wingless driving my date home. Shitty thing is I thought it'd be fine since I'd parked there during movie nights several times over the last couple months.

Idk if ICBC will give me anything, I can prove I bought the wing in 2018, had it installed, and it was on the car through at least 2022 but I didnt have extra coverage, the one specifying extensive aftermarket modifications. I DO have comp though.

thats rough... i was always so nervous parking anywhere knowing these type of wings are held by 4 exposed bolts.
if you didnt do so before try loctite the bolts and filling the allen key hole with some superglue.

ah ... thank the thief ... he accelerated your car maturation journey by about 5 yrs.

What the hell is that huge wang for anyways ... does it vibrate like hell when you drive fast?

Sorry if I don't seem empathetic ... that is just so excessive for your BRZ. There ... somebody had to say it.

It doesn't help the already waning car community to rip someone else's car/style tho...

I don't care for big wangs myself either, but I can still appreciate someone's desire to change up their vehicle's appearance.

Thieves target all of us for various reasons, he's a victim no matter what was stolen.

yah, I know ... not encouraging thievery, just trying to comfort his broken heart with a splash of cold water.

Maybe neighbour got so sick of looking at it that he helped him 'uninstall' it. See if it's in the condo recycling room.

Big wang so when you lower it, you can serve a full buffet on the wang. Great for picnics and meats

How are these wings generally secured? Is the mounting plate 3M'd onto the trunk and the wing just bolts onto the plate from the top?

Seems like any design like that is just asking for theft? Although I guess you don't have to drill a hole through your trunk.

Sucks. Hopefully you got a front and rear dash cam. It won't prevent them from stealing but it will make them think twice.

As long as you can produce the purchase receipt of your wing, you get full reimbursement from ICBC even with regular comprehensive coverage. (no additional aftermarket/modification insurnace).

At least that is what happened when the Voltex Type 3 Wing was stolen off the EVO. But just the invoice price though, if your wing has gone up in value, GG no re...

It was going to be a track car when I bought it in 2013, when I was younger and dumber. My bankroll ran out when life circumstances changed and it just kinda sat in the garage while I rode my motorbike. Was really inspired by the jdm time attack FRS/BRZ twins back in the day.

Had to sell the bike and so this became my temporary daily this year, which I guess was a bad idea.

I do have the original invoice and all that so thanks for the info! And yeah, I did let my kid have a buffet on the picnic bench wing, thought it was funny.

Plates are secured with 6 bolts into the trunk, and each plate has a fin with two more bolts each for the wing stands. It was secure as all hell, never heard any rattling for people wondering.

Figure I'll replace the trunk lid and focus on my next car instead.

Back when I had big Mugen wings, it just mounts on factory spoiler holes, then you could adjust the angle on the inner sides of the wing with bolts.
