Great choice. What happens to the ES?
By now have they fixed the issue with the water pump on the EA888?

ES is still here. gonna keep it around since its not really worth selling. Maybe ill mod it with a fat ass straight pipe and some gold wheels?
water pump issue I don't know, but my last sportwagen the biggest complaint I had was the DSG (weird shifting) and the leaky sunroof. So I purposely got it in stick and no sunroof this time around.
Pretty sure it'll carbon build up @ 120,000kms and blow up the engine before the water pump goes. or ill tune for 91 gas and blow it up in the process.... or it'll just blow itself up cuz.. german. ya know, the usual

i dont know why people complain about that shit because I never press the volume knob / next track button on any of my cars. I always use the volume controller on the steering wheel
As for the climate control, its set to 21 degrees and on auto. Never touching it again.

You don't fiddle with everything all the time? How can you live with yourself?
Oh yours is the new steering wheel without the touch buttons, they put the base steering wheel back on all the cars for 24 I think.

Congrats Hobz! That will be a fun daily.

Thanks gents ! Yes it should be fun. I don’t know what I’m doing. I haven’t driven stick in so long that I’m incredibly lazy.
5 gear. Pop into neutral. Coast to a stop. Why heel toe down ?
Starting in 2nd gear cuz why bother with 1st.
I’m probably doing this all wrong

Well, for the coasting to a stop in neutral thing it's so that you can scoot out of the way in case you need to (oncoming car, etc). And maybe saves some fuel vs idling in neutral.
The GTI certainly has enough torque to start in 2nd gear though.

Embarrassing. | Congrats! I'm super stoked you chose a GTI - the other day I was just thinking about how little I see the new ones compared to the previous gen. Beautiful spec with the plaid seats as well
You'll be shifting like Vin Diesel in no time after a few stalls here and there.

I’m probably doing this all wrong | Don't need to heel toe in city. If you have auto revmatch, just keep it on. Makes driving manual so much easier and douchier lol

Driving this downtown will either make me even more road ragey or less if I stall out like an idiot on west Georgia. Time will tell. Quote:

| It has torque lower down, plus less driveline drag (FWD vs AWD) so maybe easier to start in 2nd gear?

What the fuck a GTI?!
Seriously though congrats: I had one for a couple years and it was good times. Great balance of fun, practical, comfortable. I'd totally do it again.

I blame dark08219284382928348 for all this. He showed me that fk8 and since then I’ve been like a crack head jonesing for a fix. This GTI is kinda it without paying like 60k
