Curious how your friend liked/disliked the AMG GT. That's a car I'd like to explore but haven't had the time to explore into Mercedes category yet.
He said the NDs and the Cayman were more fun than the AMG GT .

I personally felt like his AMG GT was crazy good fun for acceleration and sound, but felt numb vs a 911 where everything is so immediately intuitive and direct. Even down to the detail of visibility out the greenhouse.

Sounds like the perfect car!

But let me finish school first and get a real job.

Dang. Email from a VW service department to ask if I needed servicing for my [long gone] '08 GTI.

That's amazing that they would think a 19 year old GTI would still be on the road. Especially given they'd already had to replace the motor once under CPO warranty.

Since we are car shopping, we are around BMW dealerships quite a lot. I went to pay a visit to my usual service advisor. While he says it's still quite busy, the waiting room and the service area outside says otherwise.

BMW is kinda bad metric as service is free for 3 years and most people lease. Porsche/MB will probably be a better data if people are deferring pricy services.

I got a call from Toyota to book an appointment for an oil change during winter break for the rolla cross. They said they are booking 2months out cause they are that busy. I chuckled and said must be because of all the turbskies v6. He said jokes on you, looks like u have one. I was like nah I got rid of that long ago.

2 months out for an oil change is wild.

Good time to be any kind of mechanic shop, they are always busy.
The future of mechanical systems will keep alot of trades employed forever, what useto be a 3hr job is turning into 1-2 days thanks to "efficiency", "energy/fuel savings" and "technology"
