Either way, i hope you had fun. its a decent place to visit, but i woudlnt wanna live there. Did you like the food? its pretty similar to tawainese food since so many ex shanghainese fled to taiwain to escape crazy old mao.
i dont find my home town all that enjoyable... too snobby and rich for my taste. cant walk around anywhere without running into these social media cunts taking selifes and vlogs. drives me nuts. And worst of all, i cant do anything anti social like swear at people (love doing this in HK), try to trip old ladies, or basically just push idiots out of the way because of the constant surveillance and the social score, which im sure im in the negatives. | Haha. Joking aside, Shanghai is quite expensive. For high-end brands like Chanel and Hermes, it's better to just buy them in HK/JP. I was in JP during transit as I wanted to do ANA's The Room again when picking my flights so I got that covered.
All in all, Shanghai is just like any other major cities. You'd have a blast if you have money to blow.
As far as food is concerned, the true Shanghainese cuisine isn't for me. It's too sweet overall where even a dish as simple as stir-fried veggie is sweet. Coming from a TWes perspective, I usually don't mind my food being a tad sweeter as most of the southern TW street foods tend to be on the sweeter side, but Shanghai is on a whole other level of sweetness.

and you cant even get any inventory of decent products. good luck trying to buy anything half decent in hermes shanghai without spending at least 4to1 ... but that's the same in HK. Actually, i was able to buy my wife a quota bag from the Hermes in Orange County recently without any history or pre-spend. I talked to the only dude in there (and he wasnt gay! shocking) and we talked about shipping and he's just offered me a bag in two colour choices. Said I could only buy one though. I guess the tariffs diminished their business a tad, but hermes is still hermes. It ended being 500 dollars more than vs buying it in canada, but once again, you cant get it in Canada without wasting a wish list item.
Japan is just cleaned out right now due to the low yen they cant even keep bag charms in the stores.
Like anything in asia, shanghai is great if youre rich...

lol @ guy who literally cannot stop thinking and posting about Carney calling someone obsessed for making 1 observation about a dead guy’s murderer
Is being a giant hypocrite a requirement of conservative thinking?

Nah I think being a liberal is being a big hypocrite. Just months ago, “buy Canadian”, now I bet they’re all back to regular programming, going to the states for vacations, using USA products and services, buying USA stocks (directly or indirectly)

There are hypocrites on both sides ... even those in the middle.

also 'buy canadian' has nothing to do with liberal or conservative... just go on facebook and see all the boomers filling up the 'buy canadian' groups. like 80-90% of canadians are reducing their business with the states... not sure why you think it's a liberal movement. is it liberal to think trump is harming canada with his policies?

Or you know, you could just make things up to suit if you want. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/articl...-down-statcan/ |

There are many sectors where there's no substitute, or for produce, the winter season means we have to buy from our neighbours from the south, but it doesn't mean it isn't still happening.
If a tree falls in a forest but you didn't see it, did it actually happen?
