Keep in mind China isn’t nearly as interconnected with social media as the western world. They are a communist country and quite comfortably and easily bury the truth of their wrongdoing in a lot of instances.

I'd be sorry to see BicBaws leave for HK, but if he really plans on doing that, he should know that track weekend packages to Guangdong International Circuit (GIC) and Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) are available and somewhat common among the car scene circles in Hong Kong too.
Some people take their own car up to track, and some people just rent cars there.
Back in the day -- say 10+ years ago? -- a typical trip would often include hitting the night life scene the evening before (Friday?), followed by 2 days of tracking. While the night life scene has definitely changed tremendously, and to a certain extent, the motorsports scene has changed as well, I'm sure similar tours are still being organized.

I had an opportunity to work for Hutchison port in HK. But I turned it down because it would require me to actually work…. Not just goof off and go to Costco.
I’d get fired in an instant.
Would be an interesting life…. Me in Hong Kong. Yelling at everyone in my garbage Cantonese and whisper diu everywhere I go. Big perk would be that I can finally buy the Lexus LM

I remember the days that every time I went to a new country I would obsess over how much better it was than Van and start investigating how to move there.
I still get it a little bit, and it's not like Van is the best place in the world... I moved after all... but I think a lot of those feelings are rooted in general unhappiness with position in life/life itself/relationships and thinking that somewhere new is a way to start fresh and everything will be better. I suppose it can be, but if the root issues are not resolved they will just fester and return in the new location.
The notion that Canada is crime infested and unsafe is ridiculous man.

You're only reading the parts you want to read to support your view.
You just have a different interface with Canada than you did as a kid, you weren't reading the news and social media and talking to a large social network. Go look at the stats, rates have not change significantly year to year to support your viewpoint.
I agree the legal system needs adjustments for when to let people likely to reoffend out, that's always been the case and takes a long time to reign in because a prosecution and judge can only base things on previous case law, so they need to claw it back inch by inch otherwise people will get off completely as the sentences would not follow precedent set by previous cases.
