Ended up getting a nose job to cut some portion of my bony vault (the upper 1/3 of the nose), remove the part that's fucked up and straighten (more precisely, IIRC, was to create enough space/clearance so that nothing stuck in there) to fix it. No more things stuck there, no more inflammation, and no more snoring.

I went to see a ENT but all he said was I have snot. Wasn't helpful at all.

Perhaps worth a second opinion.
I know someone (who is on RS) who got his deviated septum corrected and he said it was life changing. And yes, he got super rich and owns multiple properties and has multiple Beetles. This literally happened after he got his surgery.

Twenty years ago my girlfriend at the time was constantly pounding my chest to wake me up while napping cause she would notice I stopped breathing. She pretty much diagnosed me with sleep apnea before any doctor did.
Visits to a pulmonologist confirmed it too - Obstuctive Sleep Apnea.
SFU put students on mandatory health benefit programs during my last year of undergrad. Used those benefits to buy my first CPAP machine, and never looked back.
With the CPAP I get great sleep.
If I don't use it one night, then I'll still be fine as long as I still sleep for at least 6 hours. I'll definitely start feeling tired if I go two nights without my CPAP.
I'm now on my third CPAP machine, and I also have an Airsense Mini that I never travel without.
I've heard of surgeries that can remove the flap in my airway that's causing the obstruction, but it sounds painful and invasive. And not guaranteed to solve the problem.
I just wish I started using distilled water from the beginning. It leaves so much less buildup in the tank.

got the ent referral, 12-18 months out for the appointment, nice.
I've noticed with the nasal spray i think i'm getting better sleeps. i can for sure feel the difference in breathing through my nose when i take it right before going to bed
if i have a late hockey game i've been using it before as it obviously helps my breath a lot better

back in 2019 after my car accident, i wasnt sleeping well (also could have been concussion based due to the accident) and i noticed i wasn't recovering well and got sent to a sleep clinic by my doc. Turned out i had severe sleep apnea (i stopped breathing 32 times in 1hr lol)
Got that settled and havent looked back. Im still a big boy (for those who remember me) so the weight probably isnt helping , but i can't go one night without it. I get destroyed the following day if i forget it lol plus my gf hits me a bunch at night to try to wake me up when i stop breathing haha
Im hoping with my new outlook at my weight loss journey , maybe when im back in the 250s it might go away one day? Would be kinda nice to not have this thing on forever...

for those who got tested, what was your AHI level at?
recently got tested and looks like I get a 2 month trial with a machine to see how it is.
I toss and turn hella though. so gonna be hard to find something that stays on all night.
Heard good things about the resmed AirFit N30i. https://www.resmed.com/en-us/product...s/airfit-n30i/ |
