Limited to just 250 units, this serves as a tribute to a model that has defined luxury for over three decades—combining timeless design, innovative technology, and unparalleled craftsmanship into one exceptional automotive icon. This special edition is a statement to the LS’s remarkable journey, celebrating the craftsmanship, innovation, and passion that have defined it from day one.

meh. cant hold a candle to the older V8 LS's

to be honest i havent seen a modern day LS on our roads here. Absolutely nobody buys them... why would you? Besides the higher-than-average material quality, everything else is very meh. Id take a fugly 7 series BMW over this.

Skip to 7:50. he says its version 1 of this new engine and its pretty shit.
Skip to 13:00. The interior is shit. The 2018 interior was beautiful.. now the new one is just a tacked-on ipad afterthought.

Someone sell me a 98-00 LS400 plz

JDMDreams 09-26-2025 12:42 PM

Yea I just watched the car care nut video a few days ago and it's sad. I kinda miss my UL but it was really boring to drive.

I read an accord has more rear legroom than the LS, so what's the point.

Even my friends kei Van has more rear leg room. FeelsBadMan

Lexus seems to be turning into Toyota's Acura rather than Toyota's competitor to the German luxury brands in that they are increasingly just dressed up Toyota's (TX, ES, NX, RX, UX). Considering how much more volume they sell I'm surprised/disappointed that they don't have the R&D money to build out more products that are competitive with the Germans. Maybe they just don't want to and are choosing a different niche but it seems awfully unambitious for a company like Toyota.

I get Honda not investing in Acura but I don't get Toyota not investing in Lexus.

Badhobz 09-28-2025 10:11 AM

theres rumor that they are going to separate the performance lineup into its own thing (GR)

So the new GR Supra, GR Celica, GR Corolla, GR GT3 <-- this was supposed to be the LFR or whatever will now be sold as part of Lexus dealerships. Kind of makes sense, but also kind of stupid.... like its just going to diminish the lexus brand that much more.

Eventually they'll bring the century over, and thats going to the pinnacle toyota model that will also be sold from lexus dealerships.

i dont know.... toyota is stupid nowadays.

JDMDreams 09-28-2025 10:24 AM

Well if they replace LS with century and lm :notbad: but I'm not gonna pay $200k for it

Badhobz 09-28-2025 10:31 AM

I would gladly pay 200k+ for that lexus LM. JUST BRING IT HERE AND TAKE MY FUCKING MONEY !!!!!!

or the century SUV! GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE ME !

bcrdukes 09-28-2025 11:17 AM

Perhaps they will dissolve Lexus as a brand and focus only on Toyota.

I imagine Lexus is pretty profitable - seems like all the money is in luxury products - so killing off Lexus wouldn't be worth it.

Infiniti on the other hand....

I thought they learned from Scion that the average person is too stupid to realize who the parent company is, even when it's very obvious. That's why there's 4 different names for the first gen 86 twins and shopping for used ones is a mess.

teggy604 09-28-2025 01:42 PM

Acura and Infiniti are pretty much done.

JDMDreams 09-28-2025 02:11 PM

Nissan is still some how around, apparently the rogue is the 4th best selling car in Canada.

Stopped by the Lexus store at Station Square to take a closer look at the TX and while it has nice materials it sure doesn't seem like a luxury car - the difference between it and the Grand Highlander is way smaller than the diff between the Pilot and MDX. It sure feels like Lexus is resting on its laurels here - they have plenty of dev bucks to do more than a different grille and some nicer interior parts.

Also - I was kinda shocked how hard it was to see over the hood compared to my RDX, Honda is still king when it comes to forward visibility.

AstulzerRZD 09-29-2025 11:51 AM

The difference is the TX drives way neater on the road - California / Colorado drivers would care.

Yeah, I have heard that the body control is much better (and I'm sure the NVH is better) but it sill seems like nowhere near enough differentiation - the body panels and the body shape scream Cadillac Cimmaron rebadge, it'd be like Audi slapping the Q3 badge on the Taos/Tiguan.

Acura gets a lot of shit for platform sharing with Honda but most of Lexus' lineup is even worse at it. I'm pro-platform sharing - I just expect some real effort at differentiation.

JDMDreams 09-29-2025 12:21 PM

Welcome to civic and el, or csx, at least there was a huge difference between old Accord and tl, tsx

bcrdukes 09-29-2025 12:37 PM

It's a Lexus/Toyota product. You cannot expect much except for trash! :D

Badhobz 09-29-2025 01:11 PM

Its sad what toyota/Lexus has become, but that's pretty much how the entire industry is going. Prices are high as fuck (since when is the x5 a 120k suv!?) its full of useless techno shit that nobody wants like electronic door handles, capacitive touch, fugly tablets, gaudy ambient lighting, fugly shapes due to crash safety, and pedestrian safety, etc, etc.

Peak car was probably 90-2000 era. Everything since that era has just been a slippery slope down. You might as well embrace mediocrity and buy a boring ass EV.

Look at this glorious interior!!! this is what i wanted from the future. That chime... the voice assistance... it sounds like youre commanding a mech from battletech.

JDMDreams 09-29-2025 01:20 PM

Yea and that's why LS died, cuz they stopped innovating, put a Rav 4 screen on with Corolla os, and a truck engine V6 in and less leg room than a Accord.

Badhobz 09-29-2025 01:24 PM

^absolutely. couldnt have said it better.

The only car worth a shit in their lineup right now is the LC. Thats the only remaining Lexus that's still a true Lexus (fuck the post 2024 ones with the tablet bullshit).

Yes, at $ 120k or $ 130k MSRP, it's expensive, but it feels even more expensive than that. Thats the old school lexus.
Built in Motomachi by Takumi craftsmen to a standard and not a price point. Thats old school lexus.
No compromises on material choices, even if it makes no sense (Cabon fibre reinforced plastic for majority of the panels). Thats old school lexus.
Will outlast you and your family due to simple and wholesome engineering. thats old school lexus.

Look at their covenant back in 1990 when they first started... look at the trash they produce nowadays.

Greatest hits
OG: LS400
SC400/300
SC430
GSF
ISF
RCF
IS300
IS350
IS500 <- meh, 8 speed kills it and boring suspension kills it, but if you can get it cheap, its worth it for the engine alone.
OG RX+ 2nd gen RX because they were all built in japan and they'll last forever
GX all v8's
LX all v8's
LC500 2020-2023 (no 2018/19's because of harsh suspension, no 2024+ because of that fugly tablet and ruined dash)

bcrdukes 09-29-2025 01:26 PM

I just want a car with no screens, hand-crank windows, manual door locks, and a BONG that pisses you off if you don't have your seat belt on, or the doors properly closed, or some stupid engine malfunction.

Did I just describe a BMW pre E46/E39? :troll:
