i might get a membership but i really was spoiled at my last gym being a semi private one so i don't know how to deal with busy gyms and sharing equipment, having dudes want to use what im using, etc.. | I go Anytime Fitness between 1030-1100pm and the location I go to specifically isn't that busy but some of the other ones even at that time are.

That being said for 99% of people it will have what you need. They're definitely more expensive but the selling point is they have a lot of locations, they are 24hrs, and you can use your fob to enter an Anytime Fitness anywhere in the world. For me, I go to the gym late at night so the 24hr thing for me is a must.

I'm been making due with my apartment building gym. Will be cancelling my Fitness World membership asap because it's just too damn busy and not enough equipment to share with the mass of humanity that assembles there.

I dragged my lazy ass to the gym today. Really did not want to do anything. I went outside and ran and my BT earbuds kept cutting out and it was "fuck this shit" and went back in to do weights. Nevermind that it was windy AF.
Just in a bitchy mood lol

im not in kickboxing anymore but shadow boxing works too.... or this is what i do. put on gloves and head to a baseball field and go ape shit on the fence. it makes a satisfying noise when you hit it and has a good spring to it so you dont mess up your wrist.

Rivian kinda feels like a premium high-end version of Subaru. Maybe take a look at the R2?

Prob the wrong place for this but.. how do you guys get your aging parents to do exercise? My mom, who's not really all that old (56), is starting to show signs of accelerated aging like loss of balance/stability, can't walk that long anymore, spotted black/purple discoloration in feet, etc. This probably comes from 30 years of being an accountant.. and neglecting exercise.

Seems nothing changes their behaviour - my parents and in-laws are a lot older (71-83 y.o) with various medical conditions (osteoporosis, low lung capacity etc) yet nothing we do changes their sedentary ways.
I'm also trying to get my wife to change her sedentary ways as well - not much luck there either.

I'm starting to think I'm gonna have to make weekly trips to Minoru Active Centre of Living (despite the traffic), drop my parents off for classes with other 55+ people, and then I go gym at the same time.

I think the key for most people is to find an activity they enjoy. I'm around the Minoru track quite often and there's all sorts of groups out there just doing exercise together for free. Dancers, martial arts, tai chi, walking groups, etc. Plenty of things for aunties and uncles to get into if they don't wanna spend money and also make some friends.

Edmonds community centre is packed with Chinese seniors in the morning playing ping-pong and pickleball. It's pretty remarkable actually - the place is hopping and a lot of them look like they're in their mid-70s and up.

thats getting pretty quick now!
i cant speak for the most modern watches but i have a fenix 6s, i like the less bulky version.
also for hiking when im on a super long hike like 10-12 hours i dont have to worry about it. i dont really care for solar as long as it can easily last a full day. maybe if i were on a multiday hike then that would be a useful function.
