nope....bought it from futuresohp. first one i tried, didnt work, then exchanged it at the same location and still didnt work. then went to a different location and exact same thing. went back to the original location and got a refund cause luckly, the manager had the same issue with a subscription to live.

you'll need a VGA adapter. heres a cheap one thats being sold on RS http://www.revscene.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=501088&highlight=vga

as for sound it should have a red/white connector thing where you might need another adapater for that to plug into your computer or whatever speakers

Mass Effect is open ended like KOTOR, which if u havent played yet, u get the freedom to take the direction your character wants

well not necessary to be good or evil, but it will let u choose a decision ur character wants to go like make an alliance with someone or pursue which planet to go..

its not like GTA or Final Fantasy series, its a genre to its own.. but if ur a huge sci fi fan, no matter what kind it is, Mass Effect will appeal to u

just read the reviews, its kinda hard to explain what kind of RPG this is exactly

no not necessarily, but if u wanted to do it for achievements

i just find it impossible to find all the hidden flags and the templars through out the 3 cities and kingdom without a guide

generally if you wanted AC to be longer than the expected 15 hour shift and get the better bang for your buck, then you can try getting everything

but so far from what iv looked up, it doesnt affect the ending of the game however if you look up at all the memory lock, there is a secret memory that maybe unlock if you do certain things.. the game just came out so not much info on gamefaqs.com or other guide stuff..

i find myself taking an extra hour just trying to get all the view points and saving the citizens, but i do minimal investigation, enough to get the assassin target.

I suck at getting achievement points. My library consists of about 12 games and I only have 1375GP. All my friends that have 360s only have 1-2 games and have more than me! WTF lol.

i have 6500+ achievement points and that is stemming back to dec '05...


i have never completed a full achievement on games and the only games i have gotten 500pts+ is Halo 3, Fight Night Round 3 Battlefield 2... and i share Xbox Live account with my bro..


but holyshit.. when u play online and u see some people with like 50000+ achievement points, either they completed all the 50 games they bought or they played, tons and tons of games..

but right now, my time is being divided from COD 4 and Mass Effect

if u want to level up quick, go play Search and Destroy, each kill is like 50pts each and if u defuse or planted a bomb its 100pts..

i hate to sound cocky but iv gotten so much better at this game now :p haha

ME has gone surpass Jade Empire and KOTOR in terms of story telling


ME has it all, really depth storyline, even has an encyclopedia for background for races, planets and technology to fully emersed you on the game..

and im still amaze at the amount of dialogue they squeeze in on this game.. soo much depth in conversation options..


the tactical battle squad is kind of a let down though, not as much depth as i would expect compared to GRAW series..

and i have already encountered a number of glitches where i would get stuck on a wall or enemies would get stuck

not to mention numerous hitches in fps, dropping from 60 to sometimes 20fps if the game engine is running too much..


but negative as this may sound, my take on this game is definitely worth the money.. the story and the universe is just amazing for just a game..

the customization in your weapons and skills is really good..

Got Mass Effect today. So far I am LOVING the game.

I think they put the new falcons in this box cause it still had a old manufacturing date but i am very suprise that the Xbox was running very very smooth, the disc drive doesn't max out like its about to burn, i was playing COD4 for about 2hrs with ForbiddenX and after i went to feel the fans, the back which is usually the one that heats up very quickly was mildly warm and the bottom fan was just blowing cold air.

very very impressed so far..

Best way to check for Falcons in the new 360 is the power supply and lot number on the small white sticker on the outside of the Box. Just by looking if it has an HDMI port might not be good enough.


Though some of Lot #741 say it uses 203w power supply but when you open the box up the power supply reads 174w.

I think at Lot #742+ has 174w power supply printed on the outside, but double check if it doesn't.

As for the Halo Editions, just got a bad feeling about them. $450 for no games and only 20GB, geez what a rip, so who knows if they got Falcons.

I believe the power adapters already has one built in, so when you plug it into another one, you are just gonna wear out the Xbox because it has to work harder.

i had a 360 before, but it broke and i just got a new 360 elite the other day. i had an XBOX Live account on my old one. i know i can recover my gamertag on my new 360. the thing is before my old 360 broke, i got banned from XBOX Live. so my question is, if i do recover my gamertag, will i still be able to sign up for XBOX Live gold membership and be able to play online and do all that stuff? or will me linking myself back to my old gamertag lead to my new 360 live account being banned as well?

Anyone know how to murder a 360? Mine's on its way out, and I want it to RROD so I can get it sent in (seriously, it can barely play most games and when I put in Far Cry 2 it freezes on the FIRST loading screen after boot up). Right now, one of the only tactic I've heard is covering the exhaust on the back with tape, and cold shocking it. Thing is the only cold shock I have is my freezer, and now I'm up to putting it in there for an hour after doing 2 previous times (I went 10 and 30 minutes first). Yeah, call me stupid for throwing the thing in my freezer, but I've fucking had it with the damn thing and I'm willing to do anything to get it sent in aside from physically breaking it.

I got a 2008 in last week, only time can tell for 2009's. Thus far every flaw Microsoft has fixed has created a new one. The newer ones with the bigger heatsinks now have the issue of the two RAM chips on the top that are covered by the GPU heatsink getting heated by said heatsink and disconnecting.

1) don't add fans. there are replacement internal fans tho, the Talismoon is supposed to be the best and as a plus it can come with LED's.

2) I have seen people with external drives and heard somewhere about someone putting a bigger drive in a 360 drive case but I have only seen each once and haven't seen any confirmation of these setups nor know what they are being used for

This is a reply for both people I don't know who to multi quote.
To flip tuner I would say to buy ur xbox and just get the extended warranty from futureshop or bestbuy which ever place is selling the xbox pro with a better bundle unless there the same, if ur not looking for good warrenty I'd say just go to costco depending on the bundle there (the only thing is the bundle is a lot more money bc u get a lot more out of it) I got mine during the holidays when they had a good bundle but it's like 300-400 can't remember the price but the warranty is just 1 year through Microsoft. I'd say just get the 360 pro bc u get a hardrive with it if ur kid plays alot of games he'll be screwed without a hardrive, u do have the option of getting it later so it's up to u, I'd say get the elite if u don't mind putting down a bit more money for a better built system with more memory I think 120g correct me if I'm wrong. Another good thing is the extra warranty through future/ best is that it covers basically everything controller, system, power surges, there's a list. Hopefully that was helpful good luck.

To art, I'd say that's a pretty good deal, unless u think ur friends system hasn't been kept well then maybe get him to lower the $

I had a modded Xbox 360 three years ago and played a bunch of online multiplayer games with the burnt discs. Had dozens of updates and did that for a few months. Only stopped when my 360 red-ringed (1st gen console+mod = bigger chances of RRoD).

So after that I switched to a 100% legit Xbox 360 and buy/rent only original games (obviously). But to answer your question, I believe the best way Microsoft cracks down modded consoles is when you play an online game that has not been released yet. Some stores that make a business out of selling burnt games somehow get early copies of games that have yet been released. I personally have a close friend who played a burnt game that hasn't been released yet, so Microsoft banned his console from ever accessing Live again.

You can still use your console and easily get online updates. It's almost impossible for Microsoft (though I'm no expert) to detect a mod chip just by downloading console or game updates. Based on my own personal experience, you can even play online multiplayer (then again, the last time I've played online multiplayer with a modified console was more than three years ago. Hehe) Just make sure that game is already commonly played online. Haha

I'd wait for the new one. Looks nicer, it's smaller, quieter, and it comes with a bigger harddrive (250GB while I'm stuck with my crappy 20GB). However if you're not too worried about harddrive size and the whole noise issue you could just wait for price drop and get the elite model. Also Microsoft claims that the new Xbox won't get the RROD anymore but that's misleading. The new Xbox doesn't have the red LEDs for the RROD but if it overheats it will emit a red dot where the power symbol is. As for the PS3... compare the games and decide which exclusives you like better.

They give out $50 extra bump for any console. So Xbox actually is $75 TIV.

Xbox must come with 1 controller. additional controller is $15 TIV. Funny how DS Lite worth $40 + extra $50 bump which make DS Lite worth more than Xbox in trade in. :p

US is giving away $100 for console, but they do not bump $8 games to $25 for you. I'd rather do it here.

I upgraded my 360 Arcade Jasper (still under warranty) with 7 games ($60~70) gathered from Rogers Video and ~$50 on my edge card to slim last Saturday. IT IS NICE. :D

still pretty hot while running games, about as hot as my ps3 slim 40/45nm.

DVD reading is improved, not as loud. Game installed to HD makes it silent except the starting up.

I still think it's not designed to stand up. the vent on the side (right on top of the CPU) of the case makes it prefect for heat to come out if it's horizontally placed.
