Yup, should be the exact same version as the xbox 360's this year. I was very dissapointed seeing how nice and smooth and detailed the 360's was last year compared to the ps3's but we won't have to worry about it this year :)

they had the Triple Play series, but I don't know if there is anything recent.

IMO, playing baseball games is as boring as watching it:
- The fielders practically move themselves...you just need to guide them near where the ball is going to land, and the rest is automatic.
- press a button at the right time and cross your fingers for a base hit or a homerun (yay?)
- press a button and a direction to pitch the ball.

PC versions will get re-done for the 2010 series.

In other words, for the PC, NHL09 will be the same as NHL08 for PC (plus a couple of new modes "like be a pro"). Gameplay and graphics for the most part will remain unchanged.

im 13 games into be a pro as a RW sniper on pro difficulty. 12 goals 10 assists. took a while to get the feel.

ive started playing no line changes because sitting on the bench started to get boring. is that cheating? :D

this game is pretty awsome it just improves in the areas 08 was lacking and it makes it all that much better

be a pro mode is sweet, i've played 5 games so far and simmed about 4 and i've been moved up onto the 2nd line of the Moose so far

Using the new skill stick delivering defensive hits is great, u can really line somone up and hammer them, the protect the puck is soooo dope, i saved 2 different movies of me coming out front of the net protecting the puck and puting it top shelf

Anyone else notice how much Rick Rypien sucks at faceoffs? In Be A Pro mode I'm playing a Manitoba Moose RW Power Forward, and when I made it to Rypien's line, he never won a single faceoff EVER. That was at least 6 games and 30-50 faceoffs.

Now I'm playing with the Sedins on the Canucks and for some reason Daniel always passes and Henrik tries to shoot.

oh man this game is definitely better then 08, the short side shots doesn't always go in like it back in 08. played it at my buddy's house for hours, got 6wins and 2 loses. kind of at a disadvantage cause everyone we played was by themselves and me and my buddy had to learn to work as a team. pro mode was awesome, made a black goalie. if i buy the game i think I'm going to be the goalie and rip it up online.

compared to 08, this one has fewer cheese goals and you really have to EARN your goals. there are the occasional flukes but so far it seems a hella better than 08.

Does anyone else have problems playing EASHL games on Xbox? Sometimes once my team gets to the dressing room, we then search for a game, find one, but one player won't see the normal screen. Instead of seeing all the players and the teams, they'll see a blank screen with the Penguins and Red Wings, yet voice communication still works.

i was just in the middle of an EPIC game with a buddy. back and forth. great defence and scoring chances at either end. was 0-0 and it went to OT and in about the 10th round of the shootout which we both scored in "you have lost your connection to the EA server. the EA servers are temporarily unavailable please try again later" :mad:

online vesus is getting very frustrating. cant set anything up offensively with how easy poke checking and stick lifting and pass intercepting is. i used to dominate time of posession and cycling the puck for scoring chances in 08, now i cant do shit. lucky to get 3 passes in the zone

I have to admit that online is a hell of a lot of fun with like 3-4 people on your team. I think defensively it helps you but offensively it might stifle you a bit because you know where the computer is going to be but you don't know where your friends are headed. :) Had a blast playing tonight with friends.

The fights last 3 seconds and the first one to land 2/3 punches wins.

Also, i think mapping the fight AND hooking/holding button to triangle was a bad idea. I can't count how many times i'm trying to slow somebody down and end up in a 3 second fight. I'm ok with a 2min hooking/holding penalty, but more often than not, it turns into a 5 min fighting major.

Moral of the story? If you're going to hook somebody, be prepared to lose that guy for 5min. :p

It's intimidating at first and will take some practice to get used to it, but you're missing out on a lot of the game by sticking with classic controls.

Nah i still use classic controls and find it fine playing this game with them. The only things you arent able to do are the stick lifts and the protection of the puck. Imo the poke check is the best defense. My friend tried to stick left me a few times and he got high sticking penalties every time.

No, the coach's AI in this game is just messed up. You can simulate games and average 2 pts/game in the simulations and your coach will still demote you. Even if you're the leading scorer in the NHL, you'll still get demoted.

I'd also like to know what the Balance attribute does? Like specifically, does it help you stay standing if you're body checked? Or if you body check someone else does it help your recovery time?

I had the exact same issue. You and your friend should both go to the purple blade of the Xbox Dashboard. From there run the Network test, and see what the result is for NAT. For NHL09 to work properly with everyone, NAT should read as Open. If it says moderate or strict you are probably going to run into issues.

To make your NAT open you need to make sure your Xbox is in your router's DMZ, or on your router open the ports that the Xbox needs.

finished my BAP season a few days ago playing the last half of the season on allstar
got knocked out of the playoffs in game 6 of the stanley cup final in the 4th OT tied 2-2 in game 6 to the capitals. my guy led the playoffs with 27 points and won the calder and was on the 'short list' for the selke and conn smythe. finished with roughly 55 goals and 105 points. signed a 3 year deal worth 2.25/year with the canucks

in the off season the team made so many deals the only original players left were me, daniel sedin, kesler, petinger and bieksa.

just to see what would happen i simmed the first 2 months of the second season and i ended up sent down and picked up on waivers and ended up on the 3rd line of ottawa's farm team. hahaha. didnt save that one.

Better CPU AI logic near offensive blueline so they don't go off-sides as much

CPU goalie will not drag the puck back toward himself in a shootout

We have fixed the goals from outside shots that people are scoring. We have reduced shot accuracy when on the rush and when turning
quickly, and from far out. You will now have to be more conservative when shooting on the rush. If you aim all the way to the left or right, your shot will go wide a lot more. Try aiming more towards the middle to hit the net from outside. This fixes the cross goal where you shoot back the other way, and the goal that goes in with the "curve" animation, and a few others. There's a reason NHL players don't shoot from outside on the rush very often. Dumping or trying to set up is a better play unless you have an odd-man situation.

We reduced the time it took to get control of the goalie by 1/3.

When line changes are set to auto, and a user changes lines/defense manually between whistles, the line/defensive pair you
asked for will come out (or stay out).

If you have line changes off in Be a Pro, line change player chatter will be turned off.

When using a defenseman in BAP, BAP player won't get stuck on the bench and will be able to call for change

The EASHL will now go to continuous 5v5 overtime until one team scores. This way nobody has to sit out, and you get to decide who wins
(this is now just like the NHL Play-offs)

The proper own-goal cut scene will be shown where the player who scored on himself is upset.

All cut scenes should now show players sitting in their respective team's bench.

Increase AI team aggressiveness and the likelihood of them getting called for a penalty on an infraction.

If Vision Control is pressed, you do not throw a hit when in ront of the attacking net. This helps with rebound shots.

Increase the likelihood of a penalty if the stick hits the body during a stick lift.

Reduce the accuracy of shots for penalty shots and shootouts. Aiming for just inside the post is a lot tougher now
