Yup copped for 30$ at EB. PM at Bestbuy for a savings of 3 dollars!!!
Walmart also has it for 30$ as well. I bought it for 3 of my buddies. Best team game by far.

I'm getting close to finishing all the achievements and have 5 more to do. The tough one is going to be Nothing Special. It took a few attempts, but my friends and I got the No Vomit achievement on Death Toll last night: Move fast. Then high alert when a boomer is heard. Once boomer is dead, run like hell.

After playing on Expert for a while, it's nice to be able to play the game on Easy, and be like Rambo. Go toe-to-toe with a tank and win!

There's a rock on the dock side of the shore. It's right against the cliff. It's a good defense spot as zombies have a hard time scaling it, and the tank can have a hard time seeing people there so it despawns. It's cheap, but it works.

we started on Last Stand and kept getting completely owned, and then we switched to the Warehouse (Bloodharvest), which looks to be the first one. We did a lot better. On our last attempt, we managed over 12:00min. We opened the door, and ran all the way to the end and stationed ourselves on the second level. The railing helps prevent getting pulled down to the first level by smokers.

There's a decent amount of time to do some good ranged damage before the tank reaches the party. We keep shotgunning him in the face till he goes down. We basically stuck to pistols and then went to the good weapons when the tank came, since there wasn't an ammo pile nearby.

we got to 11:17 i think just now on that one, again, on the second floor railing.

for a good portion of it though, we were in the room with the healthpacks, and we had pushed a pallet jack from the warehouse into the door to jam it up until the tank came through and ripped it out lol.

and the one on boathouse against the cliff, i used to be able to jump up on it but it looks like they tried to fix it, howd you manage to still get up on it? different spot to jump from?

There are 2 "magic rocks" @ the boathouse stage. The one closest to the boat seemed to have been fixed. I didnt try the other one but I can still get on it.

When I got gold on that map, we stayed in the generator room and had all 4 people on top of that giant propane tank or whatever it is. Just get in one corner and hold back. Use pistol only and auto shottie for the tank.

The very top of the lighthouse is a horrible spot. You get dragged so easily after the rails break.

You just unload on the tank. It usually dies by the time it climbs up. That's why everyone needs to take an auto shottie. Remember to hold back and you wont fall off.

We went through the gate as soon as it was open enough, and defended in the corner, where the gas cans and pipebombs were. We brought up gas tanks, and kept tossing one by stairs to shoot when the horde came. Everyone was armed with a shotgun to take out the tanks.

Bots fuckin' suck in survival mode. Make sure you have a full team of humans. Even a crappy player is better than a bot in survival mode.

There is really no point to throwing a mollie @ a tank in survival. The tanks can be easily taken down if everyone just unloads on him (4 auto shottie is best).

Best save the mollies and pipes for the hordes.

As for Death Toll - The boathouse (finale), they fixed both rocks. One you cant get on anymore and the other tanks and zombies can easily get on now :(.

RennSport: Today's update fixed the bug where the tank doesn't show after 15mins.
Also like how the leaderboard shows personal best time and not team time. yay.

A lot of times, I can only round up 2 other friends, so we have to open a public spot. Randoms are usually 50/50. It doesn't matter if they're new, the ones that are good are the ones that listen to instructions and tips. In almost all cases, a human will always be better than a useless bot. Bots are incredibly retarded in Survival.

The next patch will probably include a 'fix' for the crane level. There's a second ledge on the building corner, next to the crane. From the main ledge, just keep inching off the edge, you'll drop down about 6 inches. Smokers can't reach survivors from there. The tank gets bugged and can't reach that area, and hunters can be tagged from long rang with the sniper rifle. It's pretty boring, but the gold achievement can be easily attained. We just went out guns blazing after 10 min, and got mobbed by 4 smokers, 3 hunters and a tank, at the same time.

I've seen suggestions on starting a single player game to reset the achievement, in case it's bugged:

Start Single Player game
Open Developer Console
sv_cheats 1;
achievement_reset L4D_ACHIEVEMENT_RESCUE_SELF_FROM_SMOKER;
Start a new game and try freeing yourself from a smoker again.

how do you guys survive church? My best is 8 minutes..i guess i need a more efficient team

For the church, I believe we were up against the side of the house, near the safe room. We were relatively safe from the smokers there. The key for any stage is to get past the 2 tanks @ 6 min. Things seem to go pretty smooth after that.

The last one we did was the rooftop. We tried a bunch of different things, like stationing on top of the A/C above the ammo and health kids. Eventually, we found a good place was the radio room. Two people were next to the pipe, looking out the window towards the heli pad. The other two people were in the corner on the same side of the other pair. We were able to go upstairs for health and ammo at ~5 min.

I know a good place for the rooftop.....no tanks or any infected/special infected can get you except for smokers.

As for the church, we usually go behind the benches near the side of the safe room. I'm missing about 4 more gold for the all gold achievement.

and when the tank comes in from medic room, isnt it hard to shoot it with the piano in the way?

I played farmhouse last night with only 3 ppl..and got gold if you just sit near the ammo stash. 2/3 of the time tank tries to get through the window which serves as a bottleneck..& you just melee infected out the window.

Construction we just used dumpster as bottleneck as well..works well.

Sorry for the long response, as you may already have gold for the church. My friends and I were helping my sister get her golds, and we did the church again. We stationed along the stone wall, outside the house, with the ammo stash at the end. We had 1 weird stranger, initially. He spoke with a voice synthesizer, and spray painted animated porn on the walls. He was useless, and we caught him not blasting the tank. With a full group of non-strangers, we were able to get it on the first try. Smokers still pulled us, but we were aware of where'd they pop up so we were able to take care of them.

We thought we were good already, but this guy had skillz. It was refreshing to play with someone that could actually teach us stuff, instead of dealing with the usual retards.



For your remaining survival golds, You can try out these strategies. They've worked multiple times for us. These are one-way trips, with the purpose of exceeding 10 minutes. There's no going back for health kits or ammo. Stick with pistols, and unload the auto-shotty on the tanks.

Gas Station - Ride the lift, and run across the roof to that room, and drop down the hole. Defend in an L formation on the desks.

Generator Room - Hit the switch. Have a couple people on the other side of the room toss molys down the stairs, the minigun room, and the windows on both sides. Once the door opens enough, go up the stairs and defend in the corner where the pop machine is. Have one person position behind the rails to watch for tanks climbing up.

Streets - Activate forklift and run all the way to the end of the street. Defend in the corner behind the bus. Tank will typically, climb over the bus to get to you. He gets stuck sometimes.

been playing l4d regularly still since i have a few friends that we play with.

crash course is definitely a great map, why? because it's the most even. With all the rooms and more areas in the map, survivors can be more tactical to foil the infected. However, there's a lot of hittables(cars/dumpsters) for the tank, hidden corners for spawns, rooftop areas for pounces.
