Hi sorry if this is in the wrong thread, didnt know if to put it in electronics or fashion and shopping..

anyways, my laptop I bought from bestbuy 4 months ago has a problem with the touchpad. I never bought any warranty through bestbuy but I believe it has a manufacturers warranty for 1 year. Do I just bring it back top best buy to claim the manufacturers warranty and they send it out? or do I have to send it directly to the manufacturer (toshiba)?

thanks

You call the manufacturer, and they'll either send out a tech or issue you an RMA. Do not bother bringing the laptop back to the store, unless you're gonna fight it out for an exchange. Just deal with the manufacturer directly.

^ Correcto. At this point it's pointless to go back to BestBuy. The exchange period is long over and you didn't get the extended warranty. However, it is much easier dealing directly with the manufacturer in my opinion. Call the 1-800 number and exchange info. They'll send you a pre-paid shipping label and box to send your laptop out.

My fiancee's Toshiba laptop had part of her screen break. The London Drugs at Victoria and 41st does warranty work for Toshiba. (Call ahead to confirm though, that was over a year ago).
