2009 BC Lions

Holy crap, it's hard watching them play these days. 3 turnovers already. Including another one yard line screw up. If it's not turnovers, it's dumb penalties and poor decisions.

Wally said the next time someone takes a dumb penalty, he's going to cut that person. Well, looks like he's not going to have much of a team left.

The saying, "When it rains, it pours," is so true with the Lions. Just when you say to yourself it can't get any worse, it does.

Mallett is the only good thing they've got so far. I hope the Lions turn it around.

TSN HD is showing it. TSN SD isn't.

I have tickets, just waiting for my friends to show up before we walk over to the stadium. Crazy game so far. Lions are ridiculous.

Awesome touchdown... dribble play. Wow!

Off topic, but I miss going to Empire Stadium. The atmosphere there was electric.

Didn't live here then but I agree the dome is not a good place to watch a game. Taylor Field has 10x the atmosphere and I'd imagine Empire used to be sort of like that. When I lived in Regina my dad used to take me to every game as a kid, loved it. Probably the best memories I have from back then.

Especially during a downpour or better yet, snow. You really know you've been to a game...........

So, a prairie boy, huh?

Just saw the Danica Patrick Go Daddy commercial on TSN while watching the game.

http://videos.godaddy.com/danica_video.aspx?ci=13906

Seen the commercial before a few times, but never bothered to follow up. LOL Nothing bad, but I guess putting it on TV is pushing it. Good marketing....

Awesome game. 'Bout time.

Is it just me or are the BC Lions' cheerleaders a little on the young side? Mind you, at my age, anything under 35 is young, but some of those cheerleaders looked to be in the JB range. LOL.

And no, don't post a "too old" pedobear jpg.

Get use to the weather when you live there. I went back for the last grey cup a few years ago though and I totally underdressed. My dad brought out the snow pants and I laughed at him. I'm not even kidding when I thought there was a decent chance I might die from the cold, never been that cold in my life.

That was a good game. Special teams were superior to the riders whereas in all the other games they've lost that battle. I've watched every game this year and been to 1 and it seems that their performance tonight might get them going in the right direction. They play the bombers and toronto next so who knows...

Went to my first game of the season last night with my dad, who's a huge BC Lions fan, and it was pretty fun. Pretty good game for BC in the 2nd half, 1st and 2nd quarters were awful especially the awful turnovers in the first quarter.

Mmmmmm....... I'm standing corrected. How come they look so young on the tube and so old in those pics? Also, Felions just doesn't sound right.

I dunno, Marissa's, what, 24 I think? Some of them are pretty young tho, and look a lot younger and smaller when you actually see them in person.

Holy shit! Are the BC Lions on crack? The 2 point conversion goes awry and is intercepted by an Argo in the end zone. All the Lions think the play is done and start walking away. The Argo just calmly runs it out and gets some serious yardage. WTF? When we played high school football, we knew to tag the guy. The Lions deserve to lose. They are not playing like a pro team.......... sad.

Wow, what a great end to the game. No Argo bounce tonight. The Jackson 2 come through. That last play was hilarious. TO has not won a home game in over a year!

Hey, Soundy, a few of the Argo cheerleaders are pretty nice.

Which didn't count as the play was already dead.

Really? I just left the room and didn't bother to check it. The announcers sure made it sound like the play was still on.

The Argo's kicker did an awesome job tonight - 6 for 6? Some from pretty far away, too.

Anyway...........

Everyone seemed to think it was... linesman even marked the spot when they finally brought the guy down around the 40. But... the Lions kicked off right after that, which wouldn't have happened if the play counted.

They were saying he's something like 17 for 18 in three starts this year, and the one missed one hit the upright... from 50+ yards out.

i believe if he scored a TD, it would've counted. there was something like that that happened last season -- guy ran it all the way to the 10 or 20 or something, but no dice.

what a game though. holy crap was jarious on a mission when he thought he was gonna move to 3rd string!

I think it was 7-7 and 3 from 50+ yards. Good game!

Yeah that was quite the turnaround. A CFL game is never over till it's over. A few things:

-Buck Pierce is damaged goods. I really don't think he'll last long. Always getting hit and doesn't seem to take it well.

- Geroy Simon has a good game, especially the 1st half.

- O'neal Wilson had some nice catches, especially in the 2nd half on the crossing route on 3rd down.

- And did anyone catch the part where the announcers were promoting the Wendy's hamburger figure about to go out onto the field? You couldn't see much of the hamburger because some hot cheerleaders were right in the way. Rod Black said some awkward lines and then said that he'd "love to eat the hamburger". LOL
