For sure. The crowd is pretty friendly at any Canadian concert. Before I got right to the front, I let this girl that was standing behind me (and in front of darthchilli) squeeze in front of me because she's tiny and couldn't see. Then when I wasn't taking pictures, I was trying to prevent the crowd from crushing the chick in the wheelchair...lol. This big dude almost fell on her so I stood between them. I totally smacked this dude in the head with my camera lens and he was like no big deal.

Just don't be a dick and try to get to the front when you arrived 30 minutes late and everyone is cool.

Originally I heard it wasn't great and there are 3 different sections there, upstairs is like a dining room higher class affair, downstairs has a dining room as well but it's pretty ghetto, then there is the bar side which is pretty nice decent patio lots of tv's etc

the lineups at like 830 were an hour long each side, me and some buddies kinda snuck in and bypassed the line lol fuck it was hectic trying not to get kicked out trying to explain why we were inside without our name down on the list haha

I totally agree with the crowd and funny thing is my friends actually said the same thing and decided to chill tonight. The first few nights had a different type of crowd, now most of the people on the streets at night are the same idiots you find during the fireworks who walk around drunk as fuck and looking to start shit. It'll just go down hill next week when the city starts to empty out and we're left with the trailer trash.

I don't know, the nightclub scene was still pretty good last night, was at Ginger and Joseph Richard and it was packed with people just having a blast, many hotties and out of towners too. Streets where probably like that because of all the kids that came in for Deadmau that can't get into clubs.

Saxony House turns into a what they call a German Discotech at 11pm, basically a DJ, it was pretty good when I went.

Yeah, downtown was a total zoo last night. Went out around 10:30 and Basically the entire Granville St that's fenced off was packed, and the usual Robson & Burrard and probably 2 blocks surrounding it was packed.

When I left (at around 12:30am), the Skytrain line for Granville Station stretched from the Dunsmuir entrance (it was the only entrance open), all the way around Dunsmuir, up Granville to almost the Granville entrance. Ended up walking to Waterfront thinking I'd get a better chance at getting on. However, that line stretched out the outside doors too. Ended up taking about 30 mins to get on the Skytrain from when I lined up which considering, isn't too bad seeing how long the lines were.

Tragedy strikes Rochette

The mother of Canadian figure skating champion and Olympic medal hopeful Joannie Rochette died suddenly in Vancouver Sunday morning, shortly after arriving to watch her daughter compete.

Canadian team officials said Thérèse Rochette passed away after being rushed to Vancouver General Hospital.

Cause of death has not been determined. She was 55.

Joannie Rochette was given the news by her father Normand at the Olympic Village this morning.

Officials said Ms. Rochette intends to compete at the Olympics, despite the shock of her mother's death.

Like most athletes' parents, they often give up just as much as the athletes themselves. Athletes don't get to where they are by having good coaches and organizations behind them. Some athletes have to work for a decade before they manage to medal, so let's just hope whoever is charge of the program realizes that and keeps the money coming.

I'm not a die hard or know it all curling fanatic.

But from watching the highlights during the Olympics - the curling games are pretty exciting.

Its a game based on a lot of strategy, technical merit and skill.

The game is played turn based where each team takes turns to curl a stone down the curling rink. The object of curling is to try and get as close to the center pin (the smallest circle). For each stone you get closest to the pin at the end, you'll score a point. Sometimes the game is so close its literally by the inches.

The action and intensity comes when a team set's up a shot where they steal 2 or 3 points in the last end to win the game or somehow scoring a impossible point when there are many stones blocking their way (know in curling as guards)

VANOC bus driver dies of heart attack while on the job
Passengers were not injured in the incident

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The last heroic actions of a VANOC bus driver this morning may have saved lives. The driver, a 62-year old man from Minnesota, was on Highway One near Brunette at about 5:00am when he had a heart attack.

He managed to steer the bus into the HOV lane before passing away. The passengers were other VANOC people heading to work - no one was hurt.

hey guys QUESTION!

im heading up to cypress for mens aerials today...whats the climate like up there...what should i be wearing...the event starts at 6pm

ive been wearing jeans with a team canada jersey w/ helly hansen thermals under the shirt and it has been okay downtown...but i dont know about cypress

^^I worked up at Cypress for a while and it was alright during the day, but at night it got really cold. Make sure you dress somewhat warm because you have to walk about 20 mins to get to where the event is and then back to go home. Oh, and most likely you will be waiting a longgggggggg time to get on a bus back home so make sure you don't line up for the Lonsdale Quay bus, that line is LONG!
