there won't be any differences AFAIK, so yes retail key won't be attached to steam (no steam achivements/integration). It'll be similar to BF2 and CoD4 in the sense that it's both offered via retail and steam

and the player cap on BC2 is only 32 players.. IMO i think its a decent number cap, BF2 was too chaotic for me anyways... .

But right now I just experienced a bug/crash. I was on the tank and our noob driver decided to drive into the enemy base, and 2 rpgs hit us from 2 different sides at the exact same time, now my screen is pure white. And its not loading the class selection haha.

but i have an issue with the Awards, the points aren't counted up correctly

i got 2x 5000 pt (gold stars) about 10x 100/200 point awards but it only counted 10,000 points

when you are free falling or whatever, you have to press a key. not sure what default was though, but it will say something like _____ / parachute when you are setting your binds. you dont have a parachute i think because of those damn spawn killers LOL. so you have to redeploy or something.

I just switched moniter to 1920x1080, and the screen will flicker with blackbars around.

Steam is just used to distribute the game. It is NOT tied to your steam account.

I closed Steam and started the game by the .exe file and it worked. Files are located in your Steam Commons folder but can be moved if you want.


.: Steam and EA versions are identical. I believe the only thing that "ties" the game down is the Beta Key, which probably doubles as your CD Key when the full game is out.

All scores go towards your overall rank for the game. But kills made as a Recon will only go towards that class, etc.

I've rushed a site at the beginning of the game with c4 but they shot the vehicle so it said i suicided and lost 10 points yet during killcam it showed me getting 300 ptz for destroying the site. But when I respawned and pressed tab, it showed me still with 0 points (since you cant go negative).

Other examples include anti-tank mines. If you plant them and an enemy tank runs it over while you are in the blast radius and you die from it. It will say you suicided and also show the points fir destoying the tank. But in tab it shows a deduction of 10 points.

And i doubt those "missed" points were added to my rank points. Cause at the end of the game it adds the award and combat scores. This actuall proves those points werent added.
So apparently points earned when you are dead, by suicide at least, are not credited to you.


And both server browsers show ping, its the last column on the right.

the server refresh is another nuisance. it always loads at the FULL server list without filters no matter what and it takes FOREVER. it should remember the last selection without refreshing or even the favorites or history tab so it doesnt take 5 mins everytime you have to go back. damn anoying.

Ok, I am a bit annoyed at the moment because whenever I am in the Heli or UAV and I get really close to the hills (on the right side for the attackers) and there is an explosion or something that causes my screen to go super bright white, basically all colours are turn to white cause of the explosion. I get this error and my game crashes and closes itself. Anyone know what's wrong? Happened twice in 2 hours so far.

Really?? Do you not see the number that range from 0 - 999 on the very right of each server.. Those are the pings. I usually click on the server a couple times to let the pings refresh and if its under 50 i'm in.

In that case all he needs is to install the game from else where (ie. that torrent) and then input the beta key. Your CC does not get charged till the game is out (apparently). sniping is hard but its fun. Its easier on console for some reason, the sniper scope stays steady but the pc is always shaking. For long shots theres gravity involved so you actually have to aim a lot higher than usual

Sniping is really easy once you get Mortars or at least 4x zoom.

Mortar the shit out of sniper spots.
Pick off anyone else with the zoom. You'll get 12x zoom in no time.

I hit 8k one game on attack because I was spotting for people alot and had alot of explosives kills. Hit Q if you don't know how to spot. It shows an orange triangle on top of enemy positions.
It's easy to snipe when you "spot" them, because then you'll see people you didn't even know were there.

Finally maxed everything out for the demo... I played this one 16vs16, while i was on the attackers side.. We owned them in literally 5 mins... Basically they whole team would rush one site at a time and try to back me up. I would then come in and plant c4 on the sites and boom.. done... The defenders were clueless.. So far Ive played 5 times where ive been the only one blowing up all stations... Lots of points... Recon is the easiest points grabber ever..

Looks like there's that option when looking for servers.. So it should be available with FF..
I didnt realize this until now but if you choose a specific gun for a specific solder sometimes their equiment gets mixed up.. For instance I was assault using the M4A1 i think and it came with C4 instead of 40mm grenades.

Does it cancel if I restart steam?
