With a BA, you need to have a plan and specialize in something. Without specializing in something, employers won't take you as seriously as someone who has.
Like someone mentioned, do some co-op's and put your economic degree into action. Maybe start working at a bank, insurance or financial company. If those things aren't your cup of tea, do some co-ops and see what you like. Specializing would mean something like doing a CA or CGA etc etc.
If you can, start working on these things now, and not closer to graduation. The sooner you know which way you want to go, the easier it will be later.
