It allows you to keep that player while picking up another player to replace him without having to drop the injured player.

You can only move players that have their status updated to IR, just select that players roster position as IR. You might need to change your roster edit type from drag and drop to classic to bring up the IR roster spot.

You have to have an empty roster spot. Add him to your team, place him on IR, then it will say you have 1 empty roster spot. Fill it with an active player. When the IR guy comes back and you want to start him, you have to drop a player from your lineup.

Niemi sucks. Right now they're splitting the load 50/50, but after 3 games each, Niemi has let in 11 goals while Nitty has let in 5. I bet in a month or so there will be a clear #1 goalie, and it won't be Niemi.

And definitely keep Lehtonen, he's a top 10 goalie in our league, and leads the league in wins.

Well here's the thing. I also got Hank as a backup center, and I'm about 14+ games [projected] for max games played. My left wings are really weak [Hartnell, Sharp, Cammalleri, Parise on the IR].

I might even be able to squeeze Marleau into my team from the trade.

And think about it this way, lets say Stamkos can get me 500 points. Malkin had 370+ and Kovalchuk is guaranteed to get 380+ [he had 375 points last year, 390 the year before].

370+380 > 500

I'm just thinking about the end of the season, not really the current streaks right now so feel free to disagree

It looks like you get Malkin+Kovie. If thats true, I'd try to go for more and leverage that kovie sucks right now and Malkin just came off injury. Stamkos has been the best player all season so far.

However I could argue the other side too.. LW > C.

Lastly, think about who you'd be dropping in order to accomodate the trade.
370+380-(whatever Hartnell is) could be < 500

I think if you can get Malkin + kovie + Marleau thats a great deal for you, otherwise I'm on the fence.

I would stick with thorton and williams. LA is red hot and Williams is getting ample chances and PP time. Thorton will continue to put up good numbers.

I watched a couple of NY games and callahan skates like has 2 left feet and has cooled off as of late. Now that gaborik is back he has been bumped around a bit in terms of line pairings.

I've gotta say that there are way too many categories for goalies in the pool... because the problem is more often than not, it's pretty much all or nothing... as in one person will win all of the categories.

Two or three of your players (goalies) can win you five categories a week, whereas your remaining 13-14 players only compete for eight categories. Way too imbalanced.

And whereas the skater categories have huge variation (little correlation between any of the categories), the goalie categories have little variation. If you get more Wins in the week, more likely than not you'll also have better GAA, SV, SV% and SHO than the other person.

Just a little rant... maybe can be considered for next year.

Yea the Goalie stats should probably be lowered and also the playoffs should be changed to 8 teams, those and the 50 move limit where automatic defaults by Yahoo, I should've changed it. Adding a Game winning goal category should also be considered.

I hate the GWG category because it's such a crapshoot.

I was swept in all goalie states in spite of putting up 4W, 2.5GAA, .915 SV % and 160 saves.

Offensively we were pretty even. Too bad, a season down the drain. Had a lot of fun though.
