Hey guys I applied to the CST for BCIT back in August but the program was full. I got a call like last month but I was asleep and didn't hear my phone go off. Didn't even know it was BCIT that called me until I called back. They said they had a spot open for winter 2011 when they called me but now it is full and asked if I wanted to be on the waiting list. i'm deathly sick and i might not be able to write some of the finals that are earlier on in the week. my family doctor writes her notes on a little piece of notepad paper, is that sufficient for me to write a make up exam or receive a standing granted?

I think the AST Program has some math, science and business mixed in with the standard trades training. My Foundation program focuses entirely on the trades training, but doesn't have the degree option the ASTP does. If anything, the ASTP probably has a distributed load since it's way longer than the Foundation programs.

Not too sure about the course load, but maybe if you cut back your hours to work 16-20 a week, maybe you'll be fine.

You don't get a discount if you purchase it weekly. You actually pay more if you purchase it in advance because of the $0.75 processing fee. Save the money and take transit if its close to you.

It's still actually a small bit cheaper even with the processing fee I think. The convenience of not having to worry about carrying change since I don't have a credit card (using my parents CC for the epermit) is worth the little more I may be paying.

No... bcit sucks like that they have no free parking anywhere on campus. however if you park somewhere just out of campus around u may be lucky enough to find something.

I would say just park closest to the building u have to go into.. then RUSH and do ur stuff. or else parking is 4.50 daily and 3.50 per hr. depending on what time and where you park.

What my instructor told me is that you can park with your 4-way flashers on as long as you're gonna be quick, helps if the building has staff parking close to it.

Yes, during exams you can't park there. But the exams are only held there at the end of the semester. Rest of the time, there isn't anyone really checking it seems.

I used to park on the side street in the beginning of the sem but those fill up by 7:30am... so I started parking right at the temple lot and have been fine the whole semester. No warning/ticket or anything.

I noticed quite a few BCIT students park there. Some actually seemed to have bought permits for the parking lot, but a majority of them haven't. It's only a 5 minute walk to campus, not bad at all.

2nd day my iphone alarm didn't go off and I'm late for my 8:30 class. Has this happened to any of you guys? I tried turning off recurrent and testing an alarm before I went to bed and everything seemed fine, but it just wouldn't go off at 6:30. Any sorta help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same problem, you just have to set the alarm setting to "everyday" then it'll work.

I'm going to BCIT at the end of March for my electrical apprenticeship levels 3 and 4. BACK TO BACK, it is going to be brutal and I will be poor even with EI.

7AM it was full, and the B lot was already at around 40%. Gravel lot fills up slower because of how shitty the pavement is there. I was late due to an accident on Highway 1 my first day, and had to park in the farthest lot.

Lucky me I work out at 6 tomorrow morning so I get first crack at the A lot after the welders.
