Again, had full opportunity to continue to hit him but walked away after the first hit.

Also helped that the plaintiff lied in his testimony.

If he was 'ABOUT' to hit your friend ie. in the process of bullying it would be justified. If he had just been standing there and talking shit that would NOT be justified. Totally different circumstances. You got off because you were protecting someone else from harm.

All the kids involved got a slap on the wrist. While this young man is gone forever.

That guy should be talking to a lawyer and filing a lawsuit. The owners of Foggy Dew will have no idea what he has for evidence or witnesses. I guarantee if you have a lawyer contact Foggy Dew about the incident you're going to get their attention real quick. There have been a few high profile cases like this and they cost the bar a lot

doesn't matter if they had good reason to punch him or not... they are bouncers, who are supposed to simply remove people who are too drunk from the bar.
and yes, the bouncers there work for Genesis security, so he should be suing both the bar and the security company.
