I picked up White. I think this is going to be the last one I buy. The pokemon are just getting ridiculous. At least Platinum/Pearl's pokemon looked kind of cool. This generation they all look really dumb. I'd rather have remakes of the originals please.

Anyways, I chose Snivy since it seems like the best option and has the least stupid name.

From what I understand of the 9yo's rants is they are the exact same game, the only difference is one legendary pokemon. The white game has a cool black legendary, while the black game has a weird white legendary that the kids don't seem to want.

Just google'd, differences are:
- ~10 pokemon exlcusive to each game
- black city exclusive to black
- white forest exclusive to white
- some common areas to both games look slightly different
- some battles to defeat specific characters are different (ie rotation in white, triple in black)

To be honest, I have no idea what's wrong with black. She just wanted white. I think she likes the black legendary thing better than the white one or something? No idea.

did you forget about Same Type Ability Bonus? thats another 1.5x off the original battle points of the skill.

so scratch with a normal type pokemon would be better than using bite off the same poke

nope, no stab. Its just that it seems like a lot of stronger moves are being learned ealier and that the weaker moves from previous generations have been boosted.

Bite has higher attack than scratch. Don't forget to factor in EVs, deter values and the nature.

What most people don't know is that Pokemon is quite a complicated game and you actually have to have a lot of skill in prediction to win. None of this matters if you just play casually though. :)

the formula hasn't changed at all. you're pretty much playing the exact same game with updated graphics and small add-ons. that said, it's a solid game to begin with and for 35 bucks it's worth it if you enjoyed the old ones.

random tips:
- once u get fly go back to the stadium every day. major cash and exp fighting people in there and it resets every day
- gamefaqs upcoming gyms so you have a party member that counters for the gym. the last gym is difficult if you don't have a decent dragon or ice

5. Rig up a system to keep the down button on the D-pad pressed down.

Works well for hatching eggs too. The battle subway provides a continuous circle for running repeatedly, but the only place that the other characters don't go is the space 1 step in. It takes a while, but if you rig up another system to keep the B button pressed down, it will be faster. Its similar to the Landslide trick in Gen III.

this game is stupid easy, i regret choosing the fire one to start since hes fire and fighting.

the only pokemons i used was the fire starter, unfezant, stoutland, and i caught a druddigon afterwards. then i have 2 buffer pokemons whos purpose is to be sent out and then i use my revive on one of my main guys.

..... just caught the legendary pokemon without hitting it once, i just threw a pokeball at him..

The storyline is retarded too. This is BY FAR the worst pokemon I've ever played. Soulsilver/Diamond are the best in terms of gameplay value.
