Ashton Kutcher Replacing Charlie Sheen for Two and a Half Men
Ashton Kutcher to replace Charlie Sheen in 2.5 men? This is going to be dam interesting....
LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Former “That 70’s Show” star Ashton Kutcher is finalizing a deal to join “Two and a Half Men,” two sources told The Hollywood Reporter.
The trade mag reported that Chuck Lorre, the show’s creator, has worked out a storyline already for the former “Punk’d” star.
“It’s really funny,” a source told THR. “People are going to love it.”
In addition, a source told THR that Ashton would receive a “huge payday.”
Just recently, reports surfaced that Hugh Grant passed up a large sum of money to join the series.
CBS had no comment when contacted by Access Hollywood about the Ashton report.
A rep for Sheen also had no comment when contacted by Access.
UPDATE:
At around 10:30 p.m. ET, Kutcher seemed to confirm the news, tweeting "What's the square root of 6.25?" For those not paying attention in math class...that's 2.5.
UPDATE CHARLIE SHEEN'S REACTION
“Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!!”, Charlie Sheen said to TMZ.
Charlie Sheen further states : “Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.” Charlie Sheen was obviously referring to Chuck Lorre, “Two and a Half Men” creator.
Ashton Kutcher has been selected to replace Charlie Sheen, on ” Two and a Half Men.” Charlie Sheen was fired on the hit comedy show.
Two and a Half Men is the most-watched comedy on television in the past decade.
CBS issued a news release on Friday calling Mr. Kutcher “multitalented” for his work across television, film and digital social platforms. The network offered no specifics on how Mr. Kutcher, 33, will be incorporated into the cast, which includes Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones.
The show’s creator, Chuck Lorre said: “We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family.” He also expressed relief that the rest of the cast would now be able to stay together.
The role on “Two and a Half Men” made Charlie Sheen the highest-paid actor in television, and already reports have circulated about what sort of salary lured Ashton Kutcher to the role. Several have put the figure at $1 million an episode, but one executive, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about financial details, dismissed that amount as seriously overinflated.

Well in my opinion, if Ashton is going to replace charlie it wont be the same. Charlie Sheen's role is all about a middle-aged jingle-wrtier, who is a player with no no goal in life and is all about partying, drinking, women, etc. Ashton is young, it doesn't fit the role.
