i'll wait for the reviews on battlefield 3 before i decide on making the jump.

cod feels like the same game over and over again because it works. the movement style, perks, killstreaks, guns and attachments, which vary from game to game, don't change drastically. but that's what i like about this game - consistency. mw3 looks like mw2 with new guns, nothing wrong with that. i still play mw2 and it's wicked.

Activision claimed that they put in the CoD title to MW2 was because of brand awareness and want to sell the game more.............

thats why at one point in the Activision vs EA/Respawn Ent lawsuit, the guys that left IW wanted to claim the rights to Modern Warfare....... fortunately (or unfortunately to those who are siding with the other one), they were able to keep the rights..

the CoD Elite was already done 3 years ago by Bungie for Halo 3.... for free..........

The reason you see "hate" on CoD is because Kotick is milking the franchise. MW3 offers nothing new that we haven't seen already. And on top of that, they want to charge you for the "elite" garbage, monthly.

If you can't see what's being done to a once great game, then you simply don't know much about the gaming world (not that you have to, I'm just a huge nerd).

The problem is this.. they make record profits and yet they charge for services that other companies give out for free (and yet make a lot less revenue). It's a matter of principle.

I loved CoD 1-3, the rest is garbage.
BF3 is where it's at. And if you fucking "jizzd" from watching the MW3 trailer, I suggest you see the BF3 one.

Kotick is going to run Activision to the ground, he already milked the shit out of Guitar Hero and DJ Hero, while those games had a niche and the popularity was only temporary, had the company not pumped out titles after titles every 3 months and peripherals almost half the price of consoles, music games would still be fresh today..

Harmonix is keeping the genre alive by maintaining a stead release of music and not pumping out new peripherals every year


Tony Hawk, which was once a bonifide game franchise for 10 years, was shitted all over when they kept releasing titles with no innovation............ until that clunky skateboard peripheral came out........ franchise is dead..

thank goodness, Blizzard is acting completely independent from Acti, imagine having a Starcraft, Diablo and WoW title every year.........

i thought that if you had prestiged in any other cod game, you would be able to start mw3 with just one cod point. for those who've prestiged 10+ times, they'd just get all the prestige shop points right away and would no have incentive to spend more time with the game.

now as for mw3 being like mw2 - they look similar and will most definitely play the same way, but with new weapons, attachments, maps, "point streaks" aka killstreaks.

if you've enjoyed cod4 or mw2, you'd most likely have a blast playing this one as well. this guy on youtube's got a lot of mw3 videos:

lastly - if you're the DLC type of player, might be worthwhile to pick up the hardened edition of the game for $100 (if you can find one), you will get the game and elite subscription (includes all DLC). if you were buy the game and elite separately, it'd be $110.

i love the close quarters maps they are really good for shotguns and smgs. the graphics are nice and smooth. the kill confirmed is good and frustrating if you dont have a reliable team :|

i also use the scar and spaz

the thing i dont like so far is that sniping is almost more for me because its all close range and you have to be able to quick scope so fuck it

I only play SP, and so far MW3 is really exciting. It's always turned to '11'. In a way that's a problem, since without more 'quiet' points the exciting parts don't have as much impact.

I had x41's and they were godly (for 300 bucks they better be eh?). But I suggest http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/call-of-duty-headsets/mw3-ear-force-bravo.aspx they have presets designed for COD and i think 180 bucks is a fair price for quality : price. Especially if your going to be using them a lot.


My KD is 1.4 and I play objective game types or Kill confirm and im usually MVP unless i've been playing too long or just warming up :P. KD isn't everything. KDR is only 1 of many parts that makes a good player..

this game feels like its the fastest paced of the series. the maps are really small and enemies are around every corner.

I don't know if i like the style of the support killstreaks. Cod's always been an earn your rewards type of game, now everybody can call in advanced uavs without having consecutive kills. (should be an assault killstreak). i remember how nice it'd feel in black ops to kill 8 and get a blackbird. now any noob can do it and that's all that comes up in game.

i played COD4.. skipped WAW and MW2... then played the shit out of Black Ops prestiging 6 times...

making that transition from Black Ops to MW3, i can say its apple and oranges... what worked for me in Black Ops, was loosing most of my gun fights in MW3..

it took me 5 hours of gameplay to adjust the faster pace game..... by slowing down my game, just be smart and cautious taking on those tight turns and blind spots..

you can sound whore in this game by simply using your tv speakers.. no need for fancy headsets..

but ya was surprise by the proximity chat of someone you just killed.. good touch

with the premium feature, it'll take about 2 (i noticed 3) days to update. the red skull on your elite homepage will turn green. in game, you'll receive a green/silver elite title + a silver skull.

your double xp will start then + you'll notice cause when you've got your name selected in lobby, it'll say "XP" in gold just above your name. in your stats, it'll also show you a timer with a 2 hour (in game time) countdown.

Stupid question, but is there any way to adjust individual sound volume? IE: Sound effects, Music, Dialogue, etc?

I thought the previous call of duty's had this, but MW3 only seems to have one volume slider in the options menu.
I want to reduce the volume of my gunfire, because at times its so bloody loud that I can't hear anything else going on in the game.

Happens to me on psn all the time on ground war only though; and especially when the stealth bomber or escort airdrop comes in.
