The fakes make me cringe every time i see them. They make me lulz the worse they are.
For the past 2 or 3 years, there's been a cup champions patch. THe Pens and the Blackhawks each have one. I just picked up the finals patch...i dont know if i should wait for one to come out.

They only put the 40th patch on the white vintage jerseys. Even then, they only wore them 6 times I think. So no, unless you see that patch on a WHITE stick in rink jersey with that V at the bottom of the sleeve, its FAKE.

Yeah that's what I thought aswell. Funny thing was a teacher at my school was wearing a road jersey with the patch :lol
Ironic thing is that he buys playoff tickets for every round, every year and wears a fake Kesler jersey...

It's going on my jersey haha. I dunno if its like against jersey rules to have both an SCF patch and the champions patch both on a jersey. I want to get Torres on the back of my jersey if he resigns, otherwise its one of the D-men.

I was watching the game at my sister's apartment and on the elevator ride down, some guy in a canucks jersey and his dog came in.
First thing I noticed was his jersey was fake and wondered if he even knew.
Then he tells us he was AT the game but had to miss OT to come home and tend to his dog.
And he didn't even act like he cared he missed it.
???? I was mystified.

Theres also pacific coast cresting in Vancouver. Apparently turnaround for them is 5 business days and its 50-60 bucks there.

I think AzNightmare said it best in the Canucks thread.
hmm... I actually don't like how the SCF patch turned out on the jersey.
But only because the Canuck's stupid logo has the words "VANCOUVER" so high up,
that it's making it look a bit cluttered. On the alternate Stick in Rink logo, it would look sweet.
Once I can decide which player to get on my blank 3rd jersey, I plan to take it to PCC to get crested and have the SCF patch stitched on.

Stanley Cup Champion patches DO NOT go on jerseys. The season's over when you win the Cup and you won't be wearing a jersey on ice anymore. And if you want to see what the SCF patch looks like on a jersey, just watch one of the games. *MIND IS BLOWN*

There have been several books out about the Canucks - I'm not sure which one this cup finals one is. I own the "Vancouver Canucks - The Silver Edition", and the "Canucks at Fourty" books. I don't think the cup finals book is out yet, since the cup finals aren't over yet for this year. As for the puck, well, if you're looking for one that says Stanley cup Champions, that won't be out until the winner is declared. I'm not sure if there's anything special being used now for the cup finals itself - there may be one, but i've not seen it yet.

The one shown there is a replica, like the ones sold in sport chek, champs, Official Team storeetc. The on ice ones aren't generally made available to the public, while the stores like The Hockey Shop sell the Retail Authentics which are pretty much the same as the one the players wear on the ice (fight strap, sewn on shoulder patches)

I bought the patch today at the team store.
I am thinking of getting it stitched by someone.
Do you guys have any ideas on who to go that wont take the 3-5 business days?
Also where does the patch go on? not a general over the left side....
I was also thinking that there must be a specific stitch is used.

I think the ones sold at the team store are like 139.99 (someone correct me if im wrong). Ones with names are 189?
Ones with name are $219 without the patch and $249 (or $259?) with the patch.

The Hockey Shop sells retail Edge 1.0's, nobody on the Canucks wears 1.0 anymore so technically it isn't what the players wear. The Canucks Team Store stocks both the retail 1.0 and team issue 2.0 since Reebok has run out of jerseys they've resorted to pulling excess team stock... Reebok is changing their logo next year so why not?

The RBK EDGE jerseys on nhl.com (the $379 ones) are of the highest quality for retail. Not sure if the fabric is the same as the RBK Premiers though. I could've sworn when it was CCM doing the NHL jerseys they had different fabrics used.

It depends HOW authentic you want it to be.
You could just get a retail authentic jersey with Burrows #14 stitched on it but that wouldn't be authentic enough for me.
Without resorting to shelling out tons of money and buying a gamer you can try to find a team issued 2.0 and get it done up. According to some of his previous gamers I've seen for sale on Meigray he wears a Size 56 Edge 2.0. I'm a huge stickler for authenticity in my jerseys right down to the name bar materials so it has to be x-trafil since that's how the team wears it.

If I get the name bar done up at say a "jersey city" or "vancity sports" would they use the authentic material for the name bar and numbers?
and also, how much does a "game worn" jersey go for? I see it on the Canucks website, but it says to "email for pricing".

I'm not sure where Jersey City gets their jerseys sent out to get it done as certain cresting companies may/may not have the necessary fabric. As for VanCity Sports I'd avoid them altogether. I don't have anything positive to say about that store, especially their Granville Station location.
When the Canucks sold through Meigray a Burrows jersey would only go for about $600-$800. The team pulled out of the Meigray program this year. Not only have the Canucks have cut out the middleman but they've jacked up the prices as well.
I asked about the 40th jersey pricing at the beginning of the year and they wanted $900 even for a fringe player like Alberts. I'd expect one of Burrows' regular season sets to go for at least $1000 through the Canucks.
As for getting your jersey done up with X-trafil I'd go with Central Crests. They are a local company and they are also the official cresters of Hockey Canada. They are going to be a bit more expensive than your average cresting place like Pacific Coast but if you are picky about detail I wouldn't consider looking elsewhere. If you are getting a pro jersey done I'd take it to a place that deals with pros on a regular basis, not someone who only does retail all the time.
You can also request pro-grade twill for the name and numbers. The twill stores use for retail are not as thick.

Thanks for all the information! based on the prices that you quoted, I think getting a game worn jersey is out of question, guess i'll stick with the edge 2.0.
out of curiosity, what are the diffferences between the edge 2.0 that the team store sells vs the game worn jerseys? in terms of the jersey it self...not the "sentimental value" associated with a game worn jersey.

Here's a pic I took with a random after the Canucks advanced to the SCF. My Bret Hedican 95-97 Red skate game worn. A lot of guys cringe when they see someone wearing gamers but I don't see the point in spending all this money just for a wall decoration.
That's sick, but I'll have to disagree with you there. In my opinion, game worns should be on display. Not worn though...Yeah why spend all the money if you're not going to wear it sure. But, what if something happened to it while wearing it out? It would devalue the jersey and probably give you a heart attack in the process :P Unless you don't care about that, then whatever! Personally I'd rather wear out an authentic, than a game worn, but that's just me

Edge 2.0 is not supposed to be made available at the NHL Retail level until next season. Since Reebok has caused a massive jersey shortage at such a critical time the Canucks Team Store has "bought" all the excess stock from the team (mostly 2.0 with a scarce number of 1.0 mixed in there.)
Since the Edge 2.0 jerseys the Team Store sells has been pulled from Team Stock, it is exactly the same jersey as the gamers (minus being game worn of course.)
The quickest way to tell between team stock and retail is team stock will not have the black Reebok tag on the inside of the jersey, just the size tag with "Made in Canada" on it. The easiest way to differentiate 1.0 and 2.0 is the material (1.0 = X-trafil, 2.0 = mostly Air Knit w/ X-trafil back panel) and the 2.0 has double-reinforced elbows unlike the 1.0 (both retail and team stock.)

To me it's the same as buying a nice car but never driving it. Wearing the jersey may devalue it but I'd only worry about that if I intend on selling it in the future. I sometimes see these guys at Canucks games wear red skate gamers (#24 Walker and #2 Namestikov) and they turn heads wherever they go.
That being said I was chatting with this guy at a game this year and he was wearing a H. Sedin gamer from the 08/09 while carrying his son who was eating ice cream. To no surprise the kid dripped ice cream all over his dad's jersey and he didn't seem to care.

Only on the internet will you find a debate of authentic vs fake jerseys.
And only on Revscene will you find people arguing for the side of fake jerseys.
This post deserves a fail because it's just outright wrong.
There has been a recent thread on Canucks forums too about fake vs real jerseys, and there are people there just the same that have no problems with fake jerseys.
There have been numerous long thread that have been ongoing for years on HFBoards about fake jerseys, and there are tons of people there that have bought and continue to buy fake jerseys.
For those who recommended Hockey Shop in Surrey Central, how's the quality of stitching? Is it no different than the stitching from the team store?

I cleaned out some more of my stuff at my parents over the wknd and found this Canucks jersey. I completely forgot about it! I think I bought it 3-4(?), maybe even 5 yrs ago from HockeyGiant.com. I think I paid like $25 shipped to my door and was a bit dissapointed when I opened the package and saw the logo was ironed on!! Needless to say, I threw the jersey into the back of the closet till yesterday. I know some authentic replica's have ironed on logos, but those are the Youth ones. This one is adult small. After going to the game on saturday i will say one thing about fakes, they are noticeable and look very bad when side by side with authentics
The Fake Kesler jersey i got and posted up here before was very prevolent at the game, and i noticed right away many people had the exact same fake i had bought, it was exactly the same colors and name stiching etc. so obviously that factory/whatever is pretty prevolent in selling their fakes here
The Kesler jersey i bought i wore twice, once the day i got it and once to school and honestly, i wont be wearing it out anymore
my next jersey to add to my collection will be a home blue with the cup patch Kesler and i'll be buying it from a legit source, almost wish i could get my money back for the Kesler to put towards an authentic

Alright, I'm not here to stir up the fake jersey issue or anything, but I'm gonna need some RSCSI`s at work here.
Here's some pics
This is a label comparison to my authentic replica vintage jersey
Fake or not, this is going to be my whatever, get it dirty jersey. I feel this is a better alternative than the fake crap floating around now.
I didn't want to quote the pictures but I remember Canadian Tire sold these a few years back as well. They are legit and the jersey is the same quality as the replicas except for the crest.
the patch they have at the team store is ironed on
It's only heat pressed because they were short on time. I hear the customs you send out to get done are going to be stitched.
Does anyone know where to get a Vancouver Millionaires jersey?
Canucks Team Store Outlet on Hastings has the creme color in L, XL, XXL last tie I checked. The maroon is all sold out.
As for Small jerseys, I was at the Canucks Team Store today during the game and they had a very small number of them with the "REEBOK" wordmark on the back opposed to the vector logo. It would be a major jersey foul IMO to throw Stanley Cup Final patches on these.
I saw jersey's today for 219.99/249.99 at the canucks store but didn't get a chance to see if they had the SCF badge on the front. Does anyone know if they do? Also, if they don't do I need to lineup or whatever to buy it like what im hearing on this thread?
Oh yea, I also managed to buy a SCF puck.... except it says game 4 on it -_-.... gonna try to exchange it for a game 5 on wednesday cause...game 5 is gonna be the last game ;)

$219 with a name, $249 with a name and patch. Don't forget to use the Rogers promo if it's still available. 20% off - makes the $249, $200 plus tax

Nope, it said Game 4. Which is really weird right? Since Game 4 hasn't even happened, and it's not even in Vancouver!

Wow that's messed up, never noticed. I guess they're trying to sell 7 of them so people will try to buy the set?
What's going to be funny is if they're not big sellers and they try to flog them off later, it'll be hard to sell random game numbered pucks unless they're really cheap. Or maybe they'll be cool and donate them.

You guys are both right. The only reason to ever get a tattoo ever, is to "represent" some deep "meaning" like a lost loved one, beating cancer, or losing a baby. Every other reason for getting a tattoo, whether it's for a sports team, or just cause you want to, is just WRONG. Go watch more TV so you can learn more about getting "inked" you morans!

The one you got wasn't a very good knockoff. Some are very bad - wrong logos, bad placement, incorrect positioning, very incorrect font, very wrong colours, etc. These can be spotted as being fake even by the casual observer. There are some knockoffs that are much better, and while it can still easily be differentiated out by those that know their stuff, the casual observer won't notice anything glaringly "off" about it.

Got my Stanley Cup Final patch done at the Hockey Shop in Surrey. Pretty good job, in and out in 15 mins. $5.60 total. Used a pretty solid stitch, I think It's like the one they use on jerseys.
On a side note, could someone check out liquidation world in their areas? While I was waiting for my patch to be done, there was a dude working on a #13 jersey (Sundin). What he told me was that some lady bought them from Liquidation World for 20 bucks! Get rid of Sundin, put on Torres?:fullofwin: If someone does go, could they buy me an XL one and I'll pay them back? PM me.
for 20 bucks, you could remove all the numbering and pay 50 bucks to get it re crested with anyone you want and still get a great deal! Depends whether the old cresting was heat pressed and stitched though.. I know some are only stitched, while others are both

Very poor branding strategy on Reebok's part. When they first came out with gear all of their low end equipment was labeled "Reebok" and the higher end was "RBK." Actually, they've done a pretty good job with branding because every time I see "Reebok" now it looks cheap.

The SCF patches are super easy to DIY iron on, and its very secure even around the edges. Just make sure its placed straight before pressing it on. I may get it stitched on at a later time just to make sure its even more secure, but I'd have to learn to fire up the sewing machine.

in my opinion...i think that if we do win the cup this year, most ppl will know that we win it on the 40th year anyway...so there isnt a need to show off the sc finals patch on a jersey that wasn't really meant for it...
but again, thats just my own opinion and i have no rights to judge anyone on how/ what they want to put on their jersey...i would not laugh or diss anyone even if he/ she has the patch stitched upside down or whatever....just that i wouldnt do it for my own jersey and stuff.

Not that the weather here is suitable for jersey wearing....

Vancouver voodoo + that Iceland jersey isn't that from the mighty ducks? Lol nice collection
Posted via RS Mobile (http://www.revscene.net/forums/announcement.php?a=228)
Iceland one was the actual one worn by #8 Wiesel in the movie. I bought it off some guy who worked on the set. He had other players too but even the shittiest Ducks player like Averman went for $800+. Conway and Banks in the thousands...

I'm trying to figure out what names to put on the back of my jerseys, having a hard time though lol. I have a Flying V, 94 Skate, and the home jersey they use now, as well as the 3rd alternate they're using now.
I'm thinking Snepsts or Smyl for the V, Linden for the skate , Naslund for the home jersey (or a player playing right now) and Kurtenbach for the alternate. Anyone have any other names to throw on a jersey?

So I got a SCF patch. They said it's heat press? But, im sure you can stitch it on right? Where would/ or have you gone to get your's stitched or pressed on? Also, whats the turn around? I know the Canucks store has a 2-4 week wait which is kinda absurd...
jeedee
06-08-2011, 09:27 PM
Get it stiched at The Hockey Shop. It's right by Surrey Central Skytrain.
$6 including taxes and its a 10 minute job.
^I just ironed the patch on myself at home. Super easy to do, and even the patch edges stick down very well. Make sure you want to keep it on the jersey though, bc I don't think its going to come off any time soon with the heat press. If you get it stitched only and not pressed and stitched, you can remove it any time I suppose.
The Canucks store 2-4 week turnaround is because they farm the work out to a third party company, they don't do it themselves. So have to factor shipping back and forth, backlog, etc etc.

anyone know where i can my patch heat pressed on? Or does iron work but its not hot enough
Yes it is, did mine at home with a cheap iron
I asked one of those reps at the canucks store and he went on and on and on about how your normal iron won't work >_>
Me and my brother each used different irons, worked perfectly fine on 6 out of 8 setting. Put a cloth over the patch, iron over the cloth to transfer the heat through the patch and patch sticks to jersey. Simple as that.

I was at Jersey City in Richmond Center before the game, trying to find those V neck tshirts in SM for my gf, but damn, lots of cute ass (figuratively and literally cute ass's)chicks buying up some more tshirts. Oh yeah, I took a quick look at the premier jersey's and they all have the "reebok" on the back neckline. I believe those are the new versions?
4 is still a lot! I have one. :)
Oh...sorry....but, but, some guys have shown off like 10 jersey's in their collection

It's ok, mine aren't worth bragging. Got that cheapo ironed on Orca one, Vintage one from err..6-ish years ago? Salmon fade Jovo one, and a 03 Team Canada one, which I've seem to have lost/can't find.

i ironed my patch on myself as well, but I think I used too low of a setting.. i was afraid that i would burn the jersey, so i put it on the synthetic lowest setting... and ironed over a pillow case... the majority of it is on good, but some of the edge didnt adhere as well.. I will redo it on a higher setting later
i also went to 2 tailors and neither did zig zag stitching..

I hear Scoff's Hockey is applying these patches as well... so this may be an option for those of you who don't want to make the trek out to Surrey. I'm not sure if they are stitching or ironing them on though.
Hope they do a good job with jerseys because when I brought in something as simple as mounting a visor (with spacers) to my helmet they managed to over-torque and crack it. My fault for not checking over their work before I left the shop.

It doesn't help that they were using an electric screwdriver the whole time. I always hand tighten first before grabbing a screwdriver and torquing it manually. If only I had my spacers I would've done it myself but I thought hey, if I'm already buying the spacers off them might as well just get them to mount it too...

Ok the guy on the phone at blueline must have had a mind fart or something. I went to blueline in coquitlam centre and try had a bunch of blanks for 129.99 which is 10 cheaper than buying at the arena. The weird thing is that I bought a medium blank at blueline and a large at the arena store. Weird thing? They are the same dimensions except for the bottom where there may be a maximum shorten of 1 or 0.5 cm in length on the medium... Anyone know why?
Anyways. Blueline said they will be getting some kesler and burrows jerseys on Saturday so I'm hoping in getting a burrows instead of my blank. Price is, I think, 209 or 219.

Ask where their name and number jerseys are from. If it's direct from Reebok it's going to have the shitty heat pressed paper-thin numbers.

That's cheap, I've been quoted way more than that. Framing a jersey often times costs more than the actual jersey itself... unless it's a gamer of course. I'd never frame any of mine though since most companies use glue, pins, etc to keep it in place. Chances are you'll never be able to break it out of the case and wear it ever again.

Yea some of the jersey frames I've gotten were $400. LOL of all things, I just found my game worn & signed Shawn Antoski skate logo jersey from the 94 playoffs, but debating if I should frame it.

Why not just use a shadow box? Most of them have built in hangers and the glass opens like a door, so you can take jerseys out.
