> Remove the sticky traps and relocate to an area where food preparation is not conducted below.
Observed sticky fly traps hanging in the kitchen over the preparation tables.
IN PROGRESS - Most mice droppings have been removed, however poison was still evident in the corner under the shelving unit beside the back door. Poison is not allowed in food service establishments as rodents may transfer poison from their feet and fur on to food contact surfaces. Their droppings may also contain poison and therefore should not be place inside the building.
> Remove all mice droppings and poison pellets. (this should be done immediately) > Clean the contaminated areas with soap and warm water, then sanitize with 100ppm bleach solution (1 tsp of bleach in 1 Litre of water) > Call a professional pest control company to monitor the activity of rodents. > Remove droppings and clean on a daily basis to help monitor the level of activity. > Conduct proper pest proofing of the premise to prevent rodents from entering the facility.
I saw this from another restaurant's report that was 3 months ago..
Inadequate Insect/Rodent Control
> Remove all droppings and debris from premise. Clean with soap and hot water and then sanitize all contaminated areas with 100ppm bleach solution (1 tsp. bleach to1 L. water) > In order to monitor the level of activity, regular cleaning of premise is needed to remove old dropping and debris from floors so that any new droppings can be distinguished. > Advice from a professional pest control company should be sought. > Proper pest proofing of facility is required to prevent the entry of pests.
Observed mice droppings and other debris under shelving in the back storage room
And this from another restaurant.
Observed mouse droppings in the dry storage room. There is a hole in the wall underneath the small shelf (where the rice is stored).
1. Remove the mouse droppings from the indicated areas and examine the rest of the premises for any further evidence of pests. Clean and sanitize these areas using 100ppm bleach solution (to make add 1 teaspoon of bleach to 1 litre of water). 2. Seal all openings (>1/4") to prevent entry of pests in food premises. 3. De-clutter and move all items (such as shelving) 6" away from the wall and off the floor to allow for easier cleaning and pest monitoring 4. All food contact surfaces - counters, cutting boards, shelving, etc - must be cleaned and sanitized at the start of each day and throughout the day. 5. Check the premises for mouse droppings DAILY and clean up as required. 6. Keep all food, utensils and dishware in pest proof containers
