Then use UPS? You even have the tracking number there. I don't see why you'd be confused unless the paper that Apple included says FedEx on it.

for those of you that shipped fedex or are about to ship fedex, the tracking number is the number beneath the barcode of the shipping label. begins with a 96 in brackets and then is followed by a 15 digit string. i took a picture of the shipping label with my phone before i sent it off as the fedex guy didn't give me any paperwork.

yup. but for me, the only tracking info on apple's website after i log in is the UPS tracking number of the box sent TO me. when i dropped of the box at FEDEX to ship my nano back TO apple, i didn't get a tracking number.

so i ran the number underneath the barcode on the FEDEX site and i can see that my nano is still currently in transit. apple wouldn't have that information on their website as they wouldn't know that i've shipped it to them. i just want to make sure that my nano reaches its destination.

It takes a while, a LONG while. I put my order in on Nov. 13. I got my box on Dec. 16 and mailed it back on the 23. They got my box Jan. 3 and on the 4th, it moved from step one to 2 and then by the end of the day to step 3. It's been on step 3 since and am waiting to get an email saying they mailed out the new one... gotta be patient is all I can say.

just got the email confirming that my replacement is also in the mail. I checked my repair status page and the picture on their is the picture of the ipod nano that I sent in, i mean to say the model and it has the serial number of the one i sent in so I don't think it has anything to do with the 6th generation replacement. Correct me if i'm wrong...

My co-worker just received their replacement Nano yesterday.
She got back a Black 1st Gen 4GB in what appears to be a new casing.
It was sent it in a few days before Xmas.
Not very happy when I told her mine was an 8GB 6th Gen.

Too bad,as I threw away a nice leather case last weekend,thinking there'd be no use for a 1st Gen one anymore.:facepalm:

I got mine ages ago. Enjoying it so much but I hate the size. It's too small compared to my old nano and the grasp on it is so minimal. Good for working out and handy but for people to like to use it leisurely it's too small IMO

It's an iPod charger that came with the car. Connects to the back of the head unit I believe.

Yeah, I got this problem too, and I did some research into it a while back. Apple changed the position of the pin that is used to charge the iPod on the newer models. Also, the voltage changed to 5V or something like that, can't remember.. In any case, it's annoying as hell when you just left your house and the ipod battery dies.. Also, I find with the new iPod, my head unit (an old Alpine) fails to recognize the iPod when I turn the ignition on. It just says "searching" until I unplug the iPod and plug it back in. Looks like I'll probably have to get a new head unit for my car if I want it to work properly, thanks Apple!

^ Yeah my brother's in-car charger won't work for this Nano, when it worked for the 1st gen. I ended up buying a car charger and aux cable. I think having 8gb instead of 2gb is worth the 2 extra cables.

I'm usually against knock-offs but i got my fake ebay one yesterday

and honestly...the build quality similar to those in your link are actually pretty damn good. Do i think they'll last just as long as the real ones? hell yeah. How much did I save? It took like fucking 5 weeks to ship but I paid $18 instead of $80

UPS sucks so much, they twice counted two attempts when they never even showed. this isnt the first time it happened either. and top it all off the only pickup is in richmond?? at least purolator allows you to divert it to the closest office.

cool i found my dumb bitch ex gf's 1st gen ipod mini while i was unloading some garbage. i'm gonna take it to the bench grinder at work and make roughly the same size as a nano and send it in. i realize they might not send me a refurb'd nano, but i'm gonna do it anyway.
