Two-Way Radios

I'm looking to buy two-way radios (FRS/GMRS) and was wondering what others have. Any feedback about performance (reception, battery life, etc.) are appreciated. Thanks!

i use motorola. bought in 2003

battery life is meh, and reception is hit or miss. they say 2.4km range or something but never really tested it.

Motorola FRS for best reception/range. I have no experience with GMRS beyond what we used in Cadets (and it was Motorola too!) except it was much better than the FRS radios.
