ever since carmelo came back, the team started to lose a bit more..
not hating, but carmelo is still a good player.

Many of us here, including myself, were wrong about Anthony's ability to co-exist with Lin. Melo thinks he's the team leader, and pulled that act last year when he arrived and started preaching that everybody needed to play defense, but the problem is that his body of work is the play of a me-first loser. Adding J.R. Smith and Baron Davis to the mix just puts fuel on this fire. The team awkwardly defers to Anthony on offense, and suffers greatly due to his defense.
............
their hold on the 8th spot is starting to make me a bit nervous. i don't want them to implode and lose it like the raptors did a few years back. i was even hoping they'd be able to catch up to 7th when they were only 2 games behind too :(

Mike D'antoni resigned!... damn the Knicks are in a funk ... 2-8 since Carmelo returned.
Trade deadline is tomorrow, should be exciting!
The Knicks don't have anybody that plays defense: Melo, Amare, JR Smith, Baron Davis ... all ball hogs who don't give a shit about playing D, terrible chemistry. It's not even D'antoni's fault. They should trade Amare for Josh Smith. That way they can have a formidable 2-way front court duo of Chandler and Smith.

It was either D'Antoni or Melo. One had to go because they simply don't fit with each other in terms of basketball.
Anyway, now that D'Antoni is gone, one has to question if this cues the downfall of the beloved Jeremy Lin.

amare for josh smith is actually not a bad idea
yes they lose talent, but josh smith looks like he would mesh better with melo and atlanta would see an upgrade in amare over smith
sidenote: holy fuck im gonna lose it if i hear howard whine and bitch about wanting a trade one more time.. that guy is the biggest loser ever (literally)
how can you complain about not winning championships when YOU'RE the centrepiece of the franchise and that franchise has done everything it can to appease you and build a winning team?? feel bad for magic fans having to put up with such an immature loaf

How have they doing everything? Apart from Ryan Anderson, all I have seen Orlando surround Dwight with is either old or shitty inconsistant players. Jameer Nelson is garbage, J-Rich is too old to be consistant, Hedo is incredibly inconsistent...They might be doing a lot to try to please him but they definitely have not been making the right moves...Vince Carter? :fuckthatshit:
Even Ryan Anderson's numbers are incredibly inflated due to the fact that he's been a perfect fit for Dwight, but that's not a problem. The rest of them are garbage. And they continue to make stupid moves...Everyone could see Gortat is a beast; why didn't Orlando play HIM at the 4?...I'd much rather have him than J-Rich and Hedo...Then they go and trade Brandon Bass who was proving to be a solid contributor for who? Glen Davis?...Again: :fuckthatshit:
The Magic are no longer legit contenders...Only teams that realistically can come out of the east are Chicago, Miami, Boston...New York has an outside chance to do damage if they can manage to get their shit together, but the chances of that happening completely are unlikely.

The point distribution among them is impressive, double digit scoring for the entire starting line-up and most of the bench. Nice to see all-star ballhogs (Amare & Melo) under 20 points each and still win by blowout.

The departure of D'Antoni has made all the difference...As I said time and time again, D'Antoni's offense and Melo's style of play simply could not co-exist.
it's nice to see lin still able to contribute too with the change in coaches.

Wow, I'm impressed by Lin's character and humbleness. He takes time out of his busy schedule to call the ESPN reporter that got fired for using a racial slur against him in an article, and arrange time to have lunch with him.
Not only did he not bear any grudge towards the reporter, Lin takes the time to have lunch with the dude.
Big thumbs up to J. Lin.

“@nyknicks: #Knicks Injury Update: Jeremy Lin will be out approx 6 weeks after an MRI revealed small chronic meniscus tear. Lin will speak w media soon”
dang, hopefully they'll still be able to make playoffs. with amare and lin out. ouch.

I hope they miss the playoffs; they don't deserve it. I'd much rather see a team that is overachieving due to heart make it to playoffs than a team that is underachieving because of selfishness......Think Warriors in '07...

lol.... so you think they wont resign him next year? he doesn't play a big enough role to be a difference maker when hes on the court?
then again you liked his bounce pass and strongly stated that he wouldn't make the big leagues..

Due to the new CBA rules, the most any team can offer Lin as a restricted FA would be around $5 million per season.....Given Lin's play and the global attention he has brought to the Knicks this season, it's likely that the Knicks will match any offer for him.

I mean does it change the deal they give him? He misses the entire last third of the season and needs a new contract. I know in the NHL that would cut a player's potential value if they have an injury filled contract year.

Lin doesn't make "great" plays. But he sure sells tickets. So teams would sign up for ticket sales.

Stupid; Way too early for talks of a documentary. What if he comes back next year after knee surgery and ends up being nothing but a bust. This is putting far too much pressure on him right now, as I don't feel he has full established himself. He is not in a stable position quite yet.
Not really racist!

agree to what trdood said
but regardless of injury of not, i dont see how they wouldnt resign him, provided hes still playing technically his "second" year in the NBA, first as a starter
with or without injury this season, he was due for a raise but despite all that the NYK organization isn't that stupid to offer him a ludaris contract, and Lin knows that and hes expressed to the organization many times that he loves it
maybe im bias but i dont think he'll get any less despite an injury, lin just had surgery last week and hes on the road to recovery and reports acutally say hes ahead of schedule and even he himself is targetting the first round as a potential for his return, just be aware this injury isnt to the extent of brandon roy's injury
only way i see him not being resigned is if somehow knicks land nash.. but hows that possible lol
