Vivint is a Utah based door knocker campaign. If you remember a company called APX that were all over the news for misrepresenting themselves, this is the same company with a new name.
If you want to deal with a Vancouver based company that has been in business 35+ yrs PM me.

I have alarm force and they are great, have never had any issues and it's kinda cool being able to talk to someone if you acidently set off your alarm.

Regardless of what system or company you chose,the alarm is only as good as the people who installed it and the persons who monitor it.
A house alarm is not 100% theft proof,theives are smart nowadays,they know they have a few minutes before the cops are called and when they will arrive,so they will scope your stuff out,kick in the door and grab whatever they want and take off.

theres only litterally 2 chinese alarm companies out there that does monitoring and servicing.

Old house already pre wired.
Whoever recommends CBA or APC go shoot yourself in the head.
The reason I am looking for new security is because I almost had a break and enter one night but scared them off.
So got me thinking and tested my alarm system. I purposely open the door with alarm on and it rang. I waited for the call for the operator.... waited 15 minutes and no call.
So I call the alarm company and they said we haven't received payment for that past year and would gladly turn it on for me if I paid.
I have the receipts for all bills paid for the past year you fucken IDIOTS. And when this problem happened why didn't you give me a call that your cutting services.

just a thing, when you have an alarm make sure you have a monitoring service. Don't cheap out and just get some alarm and hope the sound scares off people.
I mean think about it, when you hear an alarm outside would you follow the sound or just scream out "shut that off"
