There are some apps to control volume. You just need to find out which ones support which apple headphone.

There are ROMs that keeps the S-pen features + a lot more other features and doesn't have any bloatware. You can also just root your phone and delete those apps yourself.

Feels lighter and S pen in much more fluid with the new 4.3 OS. DPI is also a great plus with the new screen, colours are much more vibrant and popping up feel. Many people think that a 5.5 inch phone is already quite big but if you think about it its about the right size. I myself have an S4 with 5 inch screen and reading is on it is just right or even watching videos. Honestly once you go big screen, you never go back. Yes, its quite bulky in tight pants, but if you have lets say some straight jeans it would fit just perfectly in your pocket (this is why hongers never get big phones and go Apple). Overall I believe the N3 purpose is to expand that 1-2 year phone life span.

Don't know about the 64gb yet. WIND I think is starting with just the 32gb 3G model. Their prices btw (obviously may not hold true on Oct 4th):

The 3G and 4G versions have different bands. I don't know if they'll be interchangeable since different sites say different bands. I know WIND is selling the 3G version and the big carriers will be selling the 4G one.

If you go to the Samsung store, some employees already have the Note 3 and they might let you take a look at it (because it's their own personal phone) if you ask about it. They're ecstatic about it!

i don't believe that's the case. it'll work but not out of the box without changing the modem file. while the phone contains all the band but most are disabled based on your country. it's just like the s4, default it doesn't work on wind but once unlocked all baseband it'll pick up wind and mobilicity.

anyhow, things ive found and noted:

- most commonly used links/apps/programs are now within a link called "samsung". this includes the calculator, my files...etc
- programs do more shutting down than running in the background. it could be the program and its latest update or actually something.
- learning to use the stylish more.
- the phone should be more powerful, yet on some programs i find it lags more than others.
- the new cable is usb3.0. have yet to really try it out.

It can remotely use certain things from the phone like the dialer, recieving/sending calls and also reading and sending text messages. It can also control the music but only the stock Samsung music app. Battery life was the thing I worried about the most but am happy to report that it is better than Samsung had advertised("about a day"). Been using it for roughly 2 days and can confirm that the watch can last at least 1 day as I went a day and a half of heavy usage(playing with it constantly) and had about 25% battery before charging. I just hope Samsung updates the software and adds more useful apps.

I think the camera just lacks a decent sensor... I did notice the heat issue when I played plants vs zombies 2. It gets very hot around the rear camera area... :okay:
Battery life has been very good for me. Depending on how busy I am during work.. on average I end the night with 20-30%. Phone is on battery from 7am-11pm

I'm a HUGE galaxy fan and I've owned: Galaxy S international, Galaxy Infuse, 3x Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 International Quad core, Galaxy S3 LTE, 3x Galaxy Note 2 LTE, 2x Galaxy S4 and now I have a Note 3.

My first android phone was the Sony Xperia X10, got hooked on android afterwards.

Here is how I would rank them overall:
1. Note 3 by FAR
2. Note 2 (pretty much the same as International)
3. S3 international Quad core
4. S2
5. S international
6. S4
7. S3 LTE

When I upgraded from the S4 to the Note 3, the speed difference between Note 3 and the S4 was insane. The build quality on the Note 3 is the best compared to all the other Galaxy's I've owned. No more creaking back covers, phone feels solid with the squarey bezel compared to the Note 2. The touch response time, for the firs time, is comparable with the Iphones.

Camera is way better than the S4, I have no idea why but it is very noticeable. Even the Note 2 did everything better than the S4, it was faster, longer battery life, camera was better and etc. And Note 3 is just a better Note 2.

The S4 lags randomly, apps sometimes don't open and crashes. 80% of the time the camera can't focus properly.

Thank god I got rid of the S4, didn't even buy the S4 any accessories because I knew it wasn't worth a penny on top.

And no, custom firmwares and kernels did not help make the shitty phones better than the good phones. I.e., custom firmware on the S4/S3 did not make them performance anywhere near the Note 2/3 w/ stock firmware.

i'm flip flopping, i've always had iphones and just got a 5s, but that big sexy screen on the note 3 is making me jelly and want to exchange my 5s.

none of the rogers stores have working demo's of the note 3, they are all just the fake ones.

Been a long time user (Every model since 3gs) and decided to take the jump late last year around the time of iOS7 / Nexus 4 for a "throw away" price from google store.

Currently, I find myself picking up the the N3 9.5/10 times when I go out. The one time I pick up the 4s/4/5 is when I am going out for a run and need my player to be small and have volume control on my remote.

I would say what tipped me over the edge was iOS7 & apple insisting on keeping the phone at 64g. The music player on iOS7 is shit, the stupid player forces low res garbage images when I sort by "artist". I had to manually add 2 spaces to EVERY artist name on my entire collection for the idiot player to show my nice PSed 2k by 2k album covers. (seriously forcing some random low res photo that I cannot identify with on my retina screen is offensive).

The only thing annoying (for me at least) on android is the lack of headphone support. I even spent Hundreds importing Nocs/aJays (the only ones that make 3 button with vol that WORK) but the sound quality is........ very, very disappointing.

Think you misunderstood me, I am annoyed at the lack of support from manufacturers making android 3 buttons, not at the OS or Hardware. I am forced to go with aJay & Nocs as they are the only ones (other than the stock buds) that have vol +/- control but they sound absolutely horrible and are "ok-ish" if I tweek the EQ. When I use my other headphones (iOS ones) they sound just as good w/o EQ as on iOS so its not a Sammy/Android issue.

I've tried my Tours, SoloHD, Executive, along with 20+ other "made for iPod" buds/cans in my collection from various manufacturers and the vol +/- do not work. (Yes, I even tried all the apps that claim to make it work)

The mid button to play/pause, 2click fwd, 3 click prev, make/end calls works fine.

I believe you are using the beats that came free with HTC phones as they were designed to work with android from the ground up. They were never sold alone and thus you have to buy them from ebay as "original with no package" (stolen, openbox or fake shit) or used garbage.

BUMP! I just bought this phone yesterday... replacing my bought-on-release Galaxy Nexus.

I LOVE THE PEN. IT IS SO USEFUL

Battery life... Good run for it's money.
Today: moderate use here and there until about 90% (2 hours of commute, 4G on, streaming internet radio, screen on here and there for whatsapp). Then sat down and browsed the web for a solid 2.5 hours (mostly Youtube, RS on 4G, whatsapp...) while waiting for HK Transport Dept. to sort their shit out and print my license.
Walked out with ~60-65%. Not bad at all!

picked one up yesterday, upgraded from note 2

Super sick, IMO worth the upgrade. Got the black version, slapped a matte screen protector (Wish i saw the mime ones on here before i bought it), and put a Gold Cleve style bumper on it to mimic the Black Rose Gold version of the note 3 out there.

On my note 2, i used scotts Clean Rom, doesnt seem to have support for the note 3.

Anyone have a rom recommendation that is clean and fast, I would be happy with 4.4 if its fully functional and fast, no bloat. Pretty much looking for stock experience.

WTF samsung? Reading into it I find out i need to buy yet another accessory with the charging door. Anyone use this feature? Is there a cheaper, or better door? I think there is some sort of sticker thing that you can buy and put in the case? I know lol same thing with the S4 you have the get an extra accessory to get the wireless charging to work......

if you are using kitkat i dont know if its only for nexus devices but go to developer options and switch runtime from dalvik to ART... improves battery life that ive noticed

I noticed that as well going to KitKat. My battery life has definetly improved. Very pleased with the update so far except the SD card issues but theres a way around it.
