Apparently cheetahs act like dogs. I've always wanted one.
Cheetahs have been kept as pets for thousands of years, but they have never been domesticated. They were often the companions of the rich and high profile.
Historically, Emperors, kings, and pharaohs kept them as a sign of wealth. Akbar, a Mughal ruler of the 16th century (modern-day India), was said to have owned 9,000 cheetahs over a 49-year period. In more modern times not much has changed.
Cheetahs may be considered by some to be big cats, but they are nowhere near as dangerous as lions, tigers, leopards, and all other animals in this category. Obviously, this will not apply if you are a small child or around the same size as one. Cheetahs are the only 'big cats' that are appropriate to have direct contact with in zoos without jeopardizing human life. At best, keepers entering cheetah enclosures arm themselves with very intimidating weaponry...such as brooms and rakes. Cheetahs typically flee if a human approaches them or makes direct eye contact.

A Lynx would be cool. Not big enough to maul you to death like larger cats, but still a pretty decent size.

I want one of any of these (not really exotic... but definitely hard to find in North America I imagine) I spoilered the larger images so it wouldn't mess with the width of the thread.

I had one back in 02 and at first they were cool but then it got annoying after a while, having to feed it life crickets and then one time the cricket box got knocked everywhere and were let lose in my house.
Cool pet to see but not to own.

When I had my chameleon pretty sure the ideal food for them is worms, forget what type but they have aa lot more nutrients compared to crickets. But otherwise yes, boring and rely so much on heat they shouldn't be handled for longl.

not as exotic as others... but more realistic:
a savannah cat... I wouldn't know how many generations out from wild servals to get though.
and a dog probably... a Tibetan mastiff.
as for actual super exotic... lol an elephant... just cuz of it's size and intelligence.
