I have a 17 week old dachshund and I am debating the microchipping.

who has done this to their pet?

I have heard of two company to register with, one being avidid.com and the other being home again.

my vet suggests I use avidid.com but when I browse their website it appears to be Canadian register only.

avidid.com costs 18 dollars for the membership ( lifetime ) while home again costs 18 dollars for member ship ( per year )

We got EIDAP chips for our dogs, as that's what our vet was using... one-time charge, you fill out your info on their website (if you don't, the chip is still registered to the vet, so there's always someone to contact).
