parents will be in hawaii with the rest of my family, and on a friday i need to leave early am for a wedding on the island. I need to leave on the friday, my parents get home on the saturday around noon.

any recommendations? in burnaby/vancouver?

i was trying to find a house sitter, but apparently thats harder than it seems >.<
all my cousins work during the day, and none of my friends own dogs, so they think my dogs are "wild" since they like to play with each other (sometimes play fight - german shepherd and a rottweiler/shepherd) and leaving my dogs locked up for 8hrs + is just mean. but, most of the day the rotty/shepherd is sleeping since hes old and fat and has a sore back leg.

i read about metrodogs in burnaby. anyone with experience from them?

(or anyone want to take the task of dog sitting for 24 hours? payment is involved :p)

what kind of dog do you have?
nvm just saw. lol yeah, it may be a little tough finding a sitter for active/bigger dogs

My neighbor is planning to leave her chi-pom at this place.
Boarding | South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital (http://southburnabyvet.com/services/boarding/)

she's said she's heard good things about it. I've been there once and it seems like a well-run place.

i honestly cant trust any of those boarding places. hearing all those bad stories in the news really has me paranoid. i think you may be better off trying to find an RS member that may hold on to the dogs for you :).

One has already inquired.

Like you, I'd hate to leave my dog overnight at a kennel, but that's my absolute last resort. Im still bugging some co workers or parents friends if they'd do it, so I've got a bit longer to try and get someone I know

you can always check out part time pooch (parttimepooch.com) someone might be willing to take them, and then you pay the site.

I STRONGLY recommend Bronte pet services. They have a few options, but the one we picked was for them to stay at the house overnight with our dog for a couple days. They are very trustworthy and sent us text updates/photos of hanging with monty, playing with him etc. The owner April is also on the board of directors of HUG-A-BULL pit rescue, so shes very confident and familiar with large/strong breed dogs. I'd offer to do it if I wasn't working, and I'd do it for free just to play with a couple cool dogs.
