I'm ceramic coated and the paint looked nearly clean after a wash (and I was pretty much as filthy as your RAV4). Only the windows were still obviously dirty.

Yah, finding touchless or self-serve wash bays around this time is helpful. The one at Royal Oak is a disaster ... ice build up high everywhere.

That Cressida is a dream!! And in white too. Great score. My mom had an '86(pre-update) burgundy on burgundy, I got my drivers licence in it, loved the RWD, rolled hard with the homies in the early '90's when cruising around aimlessly was the shit. Not sure how much this past week was but the last few i went to it was $80 and a ~10 hour round trip for 30 mins of seat time. Seems like a lot of driving for little seat time but not many places to drive on a sheet of ice in a competition like setting. I felt it was worth it. The drive up was sketchy but a good podcast list, energy drinks, and snacks made it tolerable

I had my stock ISF wheels refinished at Green's recently and they charged me $1,400 plus taxes. 10/10 job, they took my whole car, dismounted and remounted the tires, and it's a black hyper chrome finish which typically costs more. Back in 2014-2017 they did a few sets of Volk 16 inch wheels with me dropping off just the wheels for refinishing and those were $575 plus taxes and paying with a credit card (not a cash job). Prices have certainly gone up.

I used Green's once and wouldn't recommend. Expensive, took longer than expected, colour match and prep were pretty bad so they had to redo it.

I highly recommend Shinez out in Abbotsford. $175 a wheel for complete refinish for these - came out near perfect (says a lot as I'm picky af) and he even did a brushed finish on the lip. And he finished them quicker than he quoted - unheard of these days.

And since trollface mentioned a Golf R; I paid $43,875 pre-tax brand new for my 2018 Golf R with drivers assistance package (or whatever it's called) in August 2018. Drove it for 6 months and sold it for like $38,xxx. Fast forward 3+ years and that exact same car with 50k kms on it is worth more than that original MSRP. Crazy times indeed.

It drips oil. Absolute no no for being on a frozen lake. Haven’t had time to book it in to get fixed between ice racing and covid etc.

The flex has better and bigger tires than the RS (aired down to 20psi). Long wheelbase for stability didn’t matter much because stability control cannot be turned off. Traction yes but not VSC. So if you got it tooo sideways it would auto brake until you were slow and straight again. It also has nice soft suspension you can preload and control into corners

The RS is awful ice racing. It’s low, it’s stiff. Fat sway bars on full stiffness. Low profile tires etc. It’s fun but horrible for putting down fast times. The flex was a beast

Inb4 you have to buy another new daily after you start modding the Flex for ice racing.

Going up sucked - I left around 6 because one of the convoy members had a delay at home. Pitch black, non reflective road lines, wet, pooling water, some rocks, lots of foggy sections. Lots of potholes around Chilliwack and Hope. Once you’re through the one lane sections at Boston Bar it got better.

Going down was better as it wasn’t raining or foggy, and you could actually see the road ahead. We left around 4:30 so had some light to start the journey too.

You won't believe it when I snagged it for under $60k. I was thinking of trading in my 2015 for a while since the warranty was done but I was disappointed when the 2021 model released without a V8. The G90 was the only car left on the market with a NA V8 so I started looking around... saw a few demo cars listed around $75k... I said no but checked periodically and they kept dropping the price... finally, one of them sold at $59,999 and it had 10,000kms on it... so when I saw this one with 5,000kms drop the price to $59,999, I rushed to pull the trigger.

Makes sense, nobody wants sedans anymore and nobody wants a gas guzzler... and let's be honest, people looking for this class of car is going to buy the 7 Series or S class. They don't know what a Genesis is... so in a time when people are paying 20-30% above retail for a normal car, I got a full size luxury sedan for 30% off retail. With the trade in, the total came in about $41k

It's bigger than I'd like, the 124" wheelbase took some getting used to but it's a nice highway cruiser, especially after I installed OpenPilot. If you see a 2020-2022 G90, wave... it's probably me... they only sold like 120 of them in Canada... lol

The 2023 looks much better since it was designed from the ground up with the new design language. The 2020-2022 was a face lift of the 2017-2019 and it doesn't really work.

Yeah, she’s a big girl and pretty hefty. Those luxury features and the panoramic sunroof sure adds up - 3800lbs and change. Also the kart track at MRP isn’t exactly wide lol. Was running Michelin Pilot Alpin 4s that day and I can tell you they didn’t appreciate it, even with the wet and cool weather. Got a bit of feathering on the shoulders. They were at 6/32nds so I’ll be replacing them at the end of this trip as I’m basically burning them down by going to California lol. LA was 27-30c at times, they felt weird on the freeway there.

Had one with minor mods on it - J's racing suspension kit, T1R short shift and a set of SSR type C's running 205 wide rubber.

So much fun to drive, it was a blast on off ramps / on ramps. it can carry the momentum and speed quite well. the chassis felt way more rigid than say an EK/EG/DC.

the stock auto one I had was still decently fun on the off ramps/ corners. They rotate better than my golf R :lawl:

Totally... I love redlining all the way to 9k and banging the gears in my Honda Beat. The Tesla 3 Performance is probably next to me wondering what the fuck is going on. But it actually seems so much faster than it is and that's what makes it fun. My NSX plate isn't actually very fitting though. NA NSX 2nd gear takes me past 100km/h already.

No actually it was originally at an Acura dealer in Edmonton and then another dealer in Thunder Bay who I bought it from in Nov 2020. I ordered the SOS downpipes through SR in Richmond.

Love the downpipes, they sound amazing (angry but not obnoxious). As tempting as it is, I don't think I'm going to mod it any further, it's so insanely fast as-is that I'm not sure it's worth the depreciation hit.

Haha thanks, I agree. I actually had originally paid a deposit on a white 2020 in Edmonton but thankfully I backed out to pull the trigger on silver. Looks great with the CF accents.
