Usual Telus hacks in my condo lobby, cornering me in the mailbox area (I should have skipped mail check that day). Basically laughs at what I'm paying monthly, said he could get me a bunch of extra features added to my plan and my price would still be lower. At no point did he mention signing a contract. All he did was prop up what he was 'giving to me' and 'lowering my bill' while talking fast in a rural ass Indian accent.

I said 'no, I'm moving out soon'.

Then when it came to finally cancel, I knew I would have to free my day completely up. Luckily, it only took 1.5 hours and that was it. I had to keep myself calm because I knew the guy was probably chained to a desk with someone behind him, screaming at him to keep my account active.

This company needs ass cancer at the bottom and a brain aneurysm at the top. Fuck em all and their shady ass 3rd party TFW wrangling scumbag contractors too.

Cancelled cable 2 years ago and have been rocking just internet, credits are up next month so called today and got sweet talked by Telus getting TV again lol. That said it was $50 more than what I'm paying now which includes Disney, Netflix Premium, and a 3rd choice which I opted for Sportsnet. I fugure I already have Disney and Netflix which run me $40/month so I'm really just paying $10 more for TV.

That doesn't surprise me when they've been greasy as fuck for years. When I was a kid they called our house and managed to turn me ignoring the guy and just saying "uh huh" every so often into an approval for adding an internet plan. My parents had no clue til a box showed up one day with a modem and a bill. My mom was pissed off with them for that to begin with, then when she called they wanted her to drive across town to give them the modem back. She told them to come get it or she'd just put it through the window of the nearest building that said Telus on it lol.

Then a few years back a few different friends who had TV + internet packages kept having landlines randomly get added to their bill every so often. They'd have to keep an eye on their bill and call to have it reversed every so often.

But the worst was when my grandparents canceled their internet but Telus kept charging them anyways. They didn't notice it for a while, but when they did and they called Telus about it they were basically told Telus couldn't do anything about it because they didn't have an account number (no shit, they don't have an account). After a bunch of back and forth and my mom getting mad at Telus people on the phone they finally get the charges to stop and gave my grandparents back less than half the money they'd taken.

Telus is scum. I'll never do business with them in any way.

My uncle just got fibre installed to his house in Rural Cowichan Bay. The install was so fucking ugly it was embarrassing. They mounted all the crap to the wall in the Garage, loops of extra cable just hanging, just tie saddled to the wall. It's going to get dirty as fuck, because you know it's a garage. They were even too lazy to properly mount the power bar using it's mounting holes, they just zip tied it with a saddle.

This is why when a year ago the guy came to my door saying they were installing fibre I said no thanks.

I went to my neighbour's RV this winter and while it was -30c outside, it was "only" like -2 inside his RV. Wow so cozy! :lawl:

The guy at the track drives the RV mostly year round (8 months out of the year.) He drives it from Toronto down to Florida and does track days across the US, so he's using it regularly. Of the 4 months it's out, he parks it at an RV park. Having said that, this guy is baller, enough to make Hehe drool with envy, so definitely not a normal situation.

If you're actually travelling around they're good to travel in because you just park and it's good to go without any setup, just fill/empty the tanks every so often. My grandparents had a pretty nice (but not expensive) one and they went down to Mexico a few times, around Vancouver Island, out to Newfoundland and up to Tuktoyaktuk with it. He was a trucker though so driving something massive around was no big deal.

Driving a really expensive one just to park it in a single spot makes zero sense.

I have traveled in either rented RV or F&F RV several times and I'd share my 0.02.

Driving a full size (25ft+) RV is baller af. The gas is crazy on those. Can't remember what the gas price was when I last did it ~2yrs ago, but IIRC, my calculation was something like $1/km in gas average. It's even worse if one's towing a car behind it. So the idea really isn't doing roadtrip with it, but rather, go somewhere, stay for a week or two, and then move onto next spot for another week or two.

RV park isn't too bad and many good RV parks are located in pretty awesome spots like lakeside or whatever. With full hook-up, a RV is very comfy.

It's definitely not a whole lot cheaper than hotel but the idea is that you could go into places like national parks and stay in there is pretty cool.

My dad has a Benz van converted RV that he travels with my mom or his friend when mom got tired of being on road and fly back. That's a lot better in mileage, but its size is more limited and not as comfortable.

Canada doesn’t really have the demographic the states does for these.

There are some pretty nice places in Arizona, Palm Springs etc where it’s just a bunch of other rich guys with their RV’s with bars pools etc. basically an all inclusive where you live in your private motor home.

Even if I had the money I would NEVER consider it, as it’s still an RV no matter how fancy it is and I’d rather just rent homes or hotels. But a lot of guys in the states also carry around all their shit, guns, golf clubs, etc.

I went to an art show back in like 2011 that had all of these famous court cases juxtaposed against equally brutal court cases of poor people in various countries. The stories of criminals getting away with it was so vulgar that people were crying. Great art show. There was a story I read about a famous Indian actor who ran over poor people in his car and never got punished for it and he purposefully did it. I try to make them pay every time they call me to waste my time. They are not allowed to hang up so I just keep pushing.

I've been working on making mainstream and SFW ad packages with AI.

Greatest stumbling block has been keeping characters looking the same across multiple scenes. I'm going to have to use a different Veo 3 access point because the one I was using didn't live up to the promises of all of the features. Not every AI is created equally, shop with caution!

Next thing I have to do is start following the top 50 biggest AI accounts making TikTok content and see what people like so far. Like the glass fruit cutting ASMR and such.

Would be so fun to turn my books into movies using the AI, first I need to find a Veo 3 provider that actually lives up to the hype instead of making empty promises. What will probably make more money faster will be creating surreal and bizarre AI video compilations.

Escalations and promises of call backs resulted in shit all. Got fed up, called back to cancel the TV and just leave me alone with internet. What's worse is going into my reddit deep dive the issue of not being able to load your TV page to is a common issue. We somehow got it working, we got the koodo TV discount thingy which I think is a similar thing so it bundles prime, disney+ and netflix all in one go. The Disney thing did take a few tries.

Funny thing, TELUS's online billing portal gives you the option of saving your credit card number in your profile. I typically don't do that, but for TELUS I thought sure, it would be more convenient. It never works! haha

Everytime I use their site to do anything with my accounts, it ends up being a waste of time.

I only stick with TELUS because I'm getting a decent deal, but yeah I have learned to expect zero quality in a lot of things with them.

Without getting into the secret sauce with these guys, you're encouraged to go on PAD as it becomes more out of sight, out of mind. Hence the reason they even offer a $5 monthly discount when you setup PAD.

You're less likely to review your bill when it's deducted automatically each month, making it easier for the inevitable funny business to occur on your monthly charges.

By pushing rather then allowing them to pull, gives you more leverage to identify any issues with your bill and have it remedied immediately.

There's enough laws enacted now that protects workers and their rights. You don't need another layer of fat that's skimming off the top of your salary.

Union meetings are absolute cringe wanks.

Anytime there's a collective agreement renewal, it's always the same old 'need more! Let's strike!' blah blah blah

The union will amp everyone up in proper psuedo-utopian fashion so we can act as their soldiers of righteousness and virtue to 'stick in to the evil management!'

Then 2 things happen:

A) The night before the supposed strike happens, they settle on a new agreement and little to nothing has changed. Maybe some extra tarter sauce in the cafeteria. Turns out, the union couldn't afford strike pay for its 200 members who were about to walk off the job because 300 members working for a different company across the country might walk too!

B) We strike, the company gives into our demands and we all pat ourselves on the back for a job well done, THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THE YOU IN YOUNION!

After my experience with the steel workers union who represented Telus workers, legit I hope the people who were in charge of that shit all die. Fucking straight up clowns who did EXACTLY what was outlined above.
