free HD with antenna
does anyone know where to buy the anteena that you hook up to ur hd tv to get the channels for free
i was reading in a local paper about about something about the signals being over the air and you can pick them up for free
has anyone tried this?

you can make one yourself. I made one and I know many in this forum have done it too.

I didn't even need the shoe box. All I needed was a hanger (the metal type), pair of pliers, a coaxial cable and the terminal bar, which I bought from The Source. Oh and some double sided tape to tape it to my window.
mind you, you only get certain HD channels (as far as I know) and depends on where you live. For example I only get CBC, CTV and Global

there's been like 3 posts across RS on how to do this, it isn't hard, try a search or google. I believe you need line of sight to Grouse in Van

With nothing more than a couple feet of 2x4, some tin foil, and cut up clothes hangers, my buddy got free HD just in time for the NHL playoffs. 
Worked friggin' amazingly as well.

Or if you're lazy, they carry a variety of indoor HD antennas as XS Cargo for $15-$20.

i got a $1 antenna from a dollar store and it worked fine lol. just regular rabbit ears
