Where to Find Ahi-Tuna?
Besides the public market in granville island
anyone know where they sell it cheaper
the public market sells it for $27.99 per pound and another vendor in the market sells for $21.99 per pound
but i guess you are paying for the freshness. which is why its so pricey

Another vote for FOB. Get a whole salmon for $20 while you're at it.

Let's say if I get a small Ahi tuna from Steveston ... how do I even start filleting it? I don't suppose there's a Filleting Tunas for Dummies!

It takes skill, and lots of it to fillet a tuna well. Besides, no one sells whole Ahi tuna to the public. They're way too big.
$20-$30 a pound sounds about right, depending on quality.

^^^ Just don't expect to get clean cuts of fish...it takes a lot of experience to do it right. You'll cut your hand a lot too. Haha..
