Honestly..people have to start giving exact measurements rather than assuming that it fits "5'4 - 5'6". That's 2 inches, and is a lot in length.
To measure the inseam, it's the distance from the crotch to the leg opening.
The crotch is the end of where all the stitching intersects.

Sorry but I know how it could be frustrating meeting up and finding out the inseam is too short.
